  • Patent number: 5313049
Abstract: A cooking assembly for a cooker or a cooking top and comprises a cooking plate (1) and at least one heat generator (200) enabling a receptacle to be heated without coming directly into contact therewith. The cooking plate (1) includes an opening (4) associated with each heat generator (200) and enabling said generator to act directly, together with retractable closure means such as a moving plug (203) associated with each opening (4) to close said opening when the heat generator (200) is not in use, the moving plug (203) then being flush with the top surface (2) of the cooking plate (1), motorized means being provided for retracting said moving plug in order to unmask the heat generator so that it can be put into use. The invention is applicable to cooking assemblies for gas cookers and/or electric cookers having a cooking plate made of molded glass, of vitroceramic, or of agglomerated inorganic fibers.

  • Patent number: 5259361
Abstract: The invention relates to a cooking assembly for a cooker or a cooking top, the assembly including a cooking plate (1) and at least one gas burner (100) enabling a receptacle to be heated, said cooking plate including an opening (4) associated with said burner to enable the burner to act directly. According to the invention, at least one of the gas burners (100) is a radiant burner having a metal fiber structure, with its top face (101) being essentially plane and flush with the top surface (P) of the cooking plate (1), said radiant burner (100) being organized so as to close the associated opening (4). The invention is applicable to cooking assemblies for cookers or cooking tops having a cooking plate made of vitroceramic, of molded glass, or of agglomerated inorganic fibers.

  • Patent number: 5172933
Abstract: An inflatable occupant restraint device includes an airbag in fluid communication with a gas generator and a diverter carried within the air bag adjacent the gas discharge openings of the gas generator to direct a portion of the gas flow away from the occupant to be restrained.

  • Patent number: 4414902
Abstract: A container and a method for making the same for a gas generating propellant such as used in vehicle air bag systems. The container comprises an elongated thin wall metal cylinder having a plurality of perforations extending substantially the length thereof. A hermetic liner is attached to the inner surface of the cylinder to seal the perforated area of the wall. The hermetic liner comprises a laminated plastic film and metal foil composite having a thickness less than that of the cylinder wall and being rupturable under the pressure of gas generated within the cylinder. The ends of the cylinder are closed by metal end caps.

  • Patent number: 4370930
Abstract: An end cap for a tubular container having a deep drawn flanged cup adapted to receive an igniter device for igniting the explosive contents of the container, such as the propellant for generating gas for expanding an air bag in a vehicle passenger restraint system. The cup has in its bottom wall, a centrally located aperture normally sealed by a composite laminate of plastic film and metal foil that is rupturable by the signal from the igniter device. A plastic annulus interposed between the igniter device and laminate protects the latter against frictional erosion by rubbing action of the igniter device through environmental vibrations transmitted to the propellant container.

  • Patent number: 4262931
Abstract: An air bag restraint system including a unitary flexible bag having a plurality of compartments. The air bag in deflated condition is confined in a vehicle passenger compartment in spaced relationship to one of the adjacent passenger seating positions. The bag is inflatable for passenger restraint purposes by a pressurizing device. The bag is constructed and arranged so that during inflation it deploys towards one of the passenger seating positions, and also expands laterally across the vehicle interior in front of the adjacent passenger seating position.
