  • Publication number: 20070021883
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the automatic or semi-automatic acquisition of multiple photographs and VIN-coded information about an automobile. In one embodiment, four height-adjustable, digital cameras are positioned on four corner posts defining a work center. A vehicle is pulled into the center until a stop indicator light is triggered, at which time an attendant scans the bar coded VIN number and reviews the proposed photographs of the vehicle at a work center computer. Once the photographs and data are acceptable, the attendant triggers a download of the information to local and industry databases. Alternate embodiments include Alternate embodiments include work centers with different post configurations, manual entry systems, and completely automated centers.

  • Publication number: 20060112558
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a tube with varying wall thickness includes the step of drawing a tube over a generally cylindrical mandrel having an outer diameter that fluctuates along the length of the mandrel between a first diameter and a second diameter. The tube is drawn over the mandrel to form a tube wall having a thickness that fluctuates along the length of the tube between a first wall thickness and a second wall thickness. After the tube is drawn over the mandrel, the mandrel is removed from the tube. The outer surface of the tube may be finished to form a substantially uniform outer diameter along the length of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4128671
Abstract: This invention relates to an instant silvering solution that does not require the use of applied electrical current for plating the surfaces of copper and copper-based metal electrical connections and contacts. It is particularly designed for the application to these copper and copper-based metal surfaces for the purposes of reducing electrical resistance and the resulting heating created, caused by the build-up of copper oxide on these surfaces.
