  • Publication number: 20160063653
Abstract: Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, and software for in-vehicle content systems and methods. One method embodiment includes retrieving passenger manifest data of a transportation service segment. The passenger manifest data may include a plurality of passenger profile identifiers and assigned seat numbers associated with at least some of the passenger profile identifiers. The method may then retrieve passenger profile data based on at least some of the passenger profile identifiers included in the passenger manifest data and provide the retrieved passenger profile data and the retrieved passenger manifest data to a data storage and processing system of a vehicle assigned to service the transportation service segment. Such methods may be performed during pre-segment preparation of the vehicle, during a prior segment, or during the segment.

  • Publication number: 20130249541
Abstract: A system, such as a magnetic immunity testing system, can include a first coil configured to generate a first magnetic field. The first coil can be disposed on a first side of a scanning volume and can have a first feed for supplying electric current to the first coil. A second coil can be similarly configured on an opposite side of a scanning volume, and a second magnetic field from the second coil can be combined with the first magnetic field to form a combined magnetic field. The coils can be provided with transporters that translate coils in at least one dimension. The system can also include a controller that is configured to control the transporters and the feeds to provide the combined magnetic field as a controlled and calibrated magnetic field over the scanning volume.

  • Publication number: 20130140249
Abstract: A method of delivering feed, for example a paraffinic solvent treated bitumen froth, to a separation vessel, for example a froth separation unit (FSU). The feed is delivered from one or more inlets into the side of a series of parallel plates that form a series of channels which may be either vertical or inclined at an intermediate angle. This feed inlet flow conditioning system is characterized by a Channel Reynolds number of less than 3000. Such inlet flow conditioning is particularly useful where the feed has particles with a bi-modal size distribution to be separated from an overflow stream. The low Reynolds number combined with the influence of the walls serves to mitigate the upward flux of the smaller particles, for example mineral solids, by trapping the smaller particles within a matrix of larger particles, for example precipitated asphaltene aggregates.

  • Patent number: 8159240
Abstract: A Bulk Current Injection (BCI) transformer is provided herein with a magnetic core and a plurality of windings. The magnetic core is configured for encircling one or more electrical conductors under test. Each of the plurality of windings are wrapped, at least in part, around a longitudinal dimension of the magnetic core and spaced apart around an azimuthal dimension of the magnetic core. During injection tests, a power source may be coupled for supplying current to each of the windings at a respective “feed point.” Arranging multiple feed points around the magnetic core enables current flow through the windings to generate an azimuthally-uniform magnetic flux density in the magnetic core. The uniform magnetic flux density enables the BCI transformer to excite only common mode currents in the electrical conductors under test. BCI test methods, including injection tests and current sensing tests are also provided herein, along with a test setup for characterizing BCI transformers.

  • Publication number: 20120006570
Abstract: A foam expansion tube for a fire fighting nozzle includes a tubular body with a longitudinal axis and a passageway extending there through along the longitudinal axis for directing a foam and water mixture from a fire fighting nozzle. The passageway has a larger diameter than the outlet of the nozzle to provide an expansion tube for the foam/water mixture. The tubular body further includes an inlet end and an outlet end, with the inlet end having an inlet adapted for mounting to the outlet of the fire fighting nozzle for receiving the foam/water mixture into the passageway and having at least one opening to allow air to be drawn into the passageway for mixing with the foam/water mixture flowing through the passageway. The tube further includes a structure that extends into the passageway wherein the structure separates the foam/water mixture to further enhance the expansion of the foam and water mixture.

  • Publication number: 20080035149
Abstract: An exhalation valve assembly for a respirator, said assembly comprising an upstream one-way flap valve and a downstream one-way flap valve, both mounted within a housing. The valves are 5 spaced apart to define therebetween a volume which acts as a ‘dead space’ in which a portion of the just-exhaled air will rest so that, should the upstream valve leak for any reason, any leakage air drawn back into the respirator will be taken from this just-exhaled air, and will thus not be contaminated by the ambient air.

  • Patent number: 7255772
Abstract: A high pressure chamber comprises a chamber housing, a platen, and a mechanical drive mechanism. The chamber housing comprises a first sealing surface. The platen comprises a region for holding the semiconductor substrate and a second sealing surface. The mechanical drive mechanism couples the platen to the chamber housing. In operation, the mechanical drive mechanism separates the platen from the chamber housing for loading of the semiconductor substrate. In further operation, the mechanical drive mechanism causes the second sealing surface of the platen and the first sealing surface of the chamber housing to form a high pressure processing chamber around the semiconductor substrate.

  • Patent number: 7161550
Abstract: As provided herein, a dual- or quad-ridged broadband horn antenna may include a pair of conductive antenna elements arranged opposite one another for guiding an electromagnetic wave in a longitudinal direction through the horn antenna. In some cases, the pair of conductive antenna elements may include substantially convex inner surfaces and appropriately shaped outer surfaces. The convex inner surfaces may generally function to direct or guide the radiated energy without disturbing the intended radiation pattern. To maintain the intended radiation pattern, the broadband horn antenna may also include a pair of tapered extension elements, each coupled to an outer surface of a different one of the antenna elements at one end thereof. In some cases, a magnetic material may be arranged upon at least a portion of the antenna elements to restrict surface currents to flowing along the inner surfaces only.

  • Patent number: 7060422
Abstract: An apparatus for supercritical processing and non-supercritical processing of a workpiece comprises a transfer module, a supercritical processing module, a non-supercritical processing module, and a robot. The transfer module includes an entrance. The supercritical processing module and the non-supercritical processing module are coupled to the transfer module. The robot is preferably located within the transfer module. In operation, the robot transfers a workpiece from the entrance of the transfer module to the supercritical processing module. After supercritical processing, the robot then transfers workpiece from the supercritical processing module to the non-supercritical processing module. After the non-supercritical processing, the robot returns the workpiece to the entrance of the transfer module. Alternatively, the non-supercritical processing is performed before the supercritical processing.
