  • Patent number: 9713315
Abstract: Reconfigurable cat litter box and method of manufacturing same, including a base and a cover mountable atop the base. The cover includes a hinged lid for the cat owner to access the interior of the box. The cover has a first end wall defining a first access opening and an opposing second end wall defining a second access opening for the cat. The base includes an upright blocking panel to cover the first access opening or optionally to cover the second access opening. If the first access opening is adjacent a wall or furniture, then the first access opening is blocked by the blocking panel and the cat accesses the box through the second accessing opening. If the second opening is adjacent a wall or furniture, then the second access opening is blocked by the blocking panel and the cat accesses the box through the first accessing opening.

  • Publication number: 20140152163
Abstract: A bag holder is disclosed for holding cat litter bags for containing cat litter waste from a cat litter box, along with a method of manufacturing the bag holder. The bag holder includes a housing coupled to a support structure, such as a side panel of the litter box, or a wall near the cat litter box. An attachment arrangement connects the housing to the support structure. Alternatively, the housing may be integrally formed with the litter box. A drawer is slidably disposed within the housing, and defines a storage space for stowing the litter bags. The drawer can be rigid and outwardly movable from the housing. Alternatively, the drawer can have walls that are fluted for expanding the drawer in an accordion-like fashion outwardly from the housing. Location and configuration of the bag holder encourages the user to use the litter bags for sanitary disposal of cat litter waste.

  • Patent number: 8733286
Abstract: A litter box having apparatus for catching and returning litter being tracked from the litter box, and a method of assembling the litter box. The litter box includes a container for containing litter. An opening and a litter return window are formed in the container. Stair steps defining slots therebetween extend from the opening. A litter return slide is disposed beneath the slots and slopes downward towards the litter return window. As the animal traverses the stair steps, litter adhering to the paws of the animal is dislodged and falls through the slots to be caught by the litter return slide. The dislodged litter travels down the litter return slide and through the litter return window so as to return the dislodged litter to the litter container. Thus, the animal is prevented from tracking litter beyond the litter box, so that litter cleanup is reduced and sanitation is enhanced.

  • Publication number: 20140076756
Abstract: A scoop holder for holding a scoop device for scooping waste-contaminated cat litter from a cat litter box, and a method of manufacturing the scoop holder, is disclosed. The scoop holder includes a receptacle adapted to be coupled to a support structure, such as a side panel of the litter box, a wall, or other vertical structure. The receptacle defines a cavity therein for holding the scoop device. A liner is adapted to line the cavity so as to prevent waste-contaminated litter particles that fall from the scoop device from collecting in the receptacle. In one embodiment, the liner is removable from the receptacle, and is separately cleanable. In another embodiment, the liner is affixed to a liner housing, and is outwardly extendable therefrom for cleaning the liner.
