  • Patent number: 7861381
Abstract: In an apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, especially a flat card, roller card or the like, a clothed, rapidly rotating roller is located opposite at least one component at a spacing. In order, by means that are simple and that save time, to make it possible to set a modified carding gap when components having different parameters (construction, properties) are replaced, the component has an electronic storage unit in which information relating to the nature of the component is arranged to be stored. A writing device for writing in the information and a reading device for reading out the information may be provided.

  • Patent number: 7735200
Abstract: In an apparatus at a spinning preparation machine, especially a card, having a clothed roller, at least machine element located opposite the roller clothing and spaced radially therefrom, and having two fixed lateral holding devices on which work elements are mounted, first and second measuring elements, connected to a control device are provided for detecting variables linked to the dimensions of the roller. The first measuring element comprises a temperature probe for the temperature of the roller surface. The second measuring element comprises a rotational speed sensor for the roller speed. To allow an actual carding nip to be determined, permitting a comparison with a preset carding nip, a third measuring element for the temperature of the holding devices is provided and the control device determines the actual spacing for the roller and the side panels.

  • Patent number: 7503100
Abstract: In a spinning preparation machine, a machine element lies opposite the clothing of a roller, bearing surfaces of end portions of the machine element are in engagement with respective bearing surfaces of stationary bearings, and an adjustment means is arranged in the region of each of the end portions and the bearings, the adjustment means being able to alter the radial spacing between the roller and the machine element. To enable the carding nip to be adapted or kept constant, adjusting elements of the machine element and adjusting elements of the bearings each have inclined bearing surfaces, and the machine element, in the event of undergoing thermally induced expansion in its longitudinal direction, is so displaceable along the inclined surfaces that the radial spacing remains the same.

  • Patent number: 7500289
Abstract: In an apparatus on a spinning preparation machine, at least one machine element lies opposite and spaced apart from the clothing of a roller, and bearing surfaces of the end portions of the machine element are in engagement with respective bearing surfaces of stationary bearings. An adjustment means is arranged in the region of each of the end portions for altering the radial spacing between the clothing of the roller and the machine element. To enable the carding nip to be adapted or kept constant in the event of thermally induced changes in dimensions, the machine element and the bearings each have inclined bearing surfaces, and the machine element, in the event of undergoing thermally induced expansion in its longitudinal direction, is so displaceable along the sloping surfaces that the radial spacing remains the same.

  • Patent number: 7331086
Abstract: In an arrangement at a draw frame including a suction device for removing dust, fiber dust and the like, in which a funnel and a pair of draw-off rollers are present at the outlet of the draw frame immediately after a web-guiding element, the suction removal device is able to encompass the region between the outlet of the funnel and the nip between the draw-off rollers. In order to catch and remove waste that is released effectively, the flow channel of the suction removal device is able to substantially encompass the intake region of the funnel and projects laterally beyond the intake region of the funnel.

  • Patent number: 6907644
Abstract: Automatic modification of volumetric air flow in an apparatus for pneumatically feeding a spinning preparation machine, by means of fiber-flock charging shafts located upstream of individual spinning preparation machines and connected to a pneumatic fiber-transporting line, the transporting line connected by way of a fiber material feed fan to the fiber-processing machine upstream. A set of characteristic curves describing air flow is stored in a characteristic curve set element; a measurement signal for the pressure difference at the fan and values relating to rotation of the fan are ascertained in a computer unit. The computer unit determines value of the volumetric air flow from the characteristic curves. In the event of departure from a desired value for the volumetric air flow, the operating point for the speed of rotation of the fan is displaced to the desired value.

  • Patent number: 6681449
Abstract: A vacuum device is provided for use with a textile processing machine having a rotating roller with cleaning locations. The device has a vacuum generator, a main vacuum line operatively associated with the vacuum generator, a plurality of individual vacuum lines, and a vacuum control valve. Each of the individual vacuum lines has at least one cleaning opening. Each of the cleaning openings is for positioning at one of the cleaning locations. The vacuum generator creates a first vacuum at the upstream side of the vacuum control valve when the vacuum control valve is in one operating position, and a second vacuum at the upstream side of the vacuum control valve when the vacuum control valve is in a secondary operating position. The second vacuum is stronger than the first vacuum.
