  • Publication number: 20240023516
Abstract: Livestock may be managed by a variety of systems, processes, and techniques. In particular implementations, the properties of water may be monitored by automated techniques and treated water may be provided to animals. In certain implementations, sick, or potentially sick, livestock may be provided with treated water to improve their health. The automated techniques may include monitoring the movements and/or water consumption of the livestock and predicting which ones may be sick based on their movements and/or water consumption. In some implementations, a water trough may contain multiple segments. The water properties in the segments may be maintained at different states.

  • Publication number: 20100240302
Abstract: A wireless FM repeater system for converting the audio signal from a portable audio source (e.g., iPod, MP3 player, a cell phone or satellite radio, etc.) and transmitting it to the FM tuner of a vehicle stereo system where access to a hard-wired input jack does not exist. The system includes a transmitter, coupled to the audio source, that transmits the audio source signals at a high frequency (e.g., 902-928 MHz, 2.4-2.483 GHz, 434/868 MHz) to a repeater located adjacent the vehicle's audio system antenna and wherein the repeater downconverts, without demodulation, the high frequency carrier and includes an FM transmitter that transmits the audio source signal, in compliance with government regulations, to the vehicle's audio FM system, via the vehicle's FM antenna, without signal degradation.

  • Patent number: 7040566
Abstract: Dispenser apparatus for dispensing flexible sheet material including material-recognition apparatus permitting the dispenser to recognize sheet material from an authorized source and to be enabled for operation with such material. The dispenser preferably includes standard mechanical components for dispensing sheet material from the dispenser including a housing, structure for supporting a roll of sheet material, drive and tension rollers forming a nip through which the sheet material is displaced as the drive roller rotates and drive apparatus in power-transmission relationship with the drive roller. The material-recognition apparatus includes a sensor mounted in the dispenser housing and in position to scan a code, preferably located on the core on which the sheet material is wound. The sensor generates a code signal corresponding to the code.

  • Patent number: 5581617
Abstract: A system is provided which transmits either analog or digital data signals over the air. The system includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter and receiver are arranged to transmit signals using a carrier signal having a high frequency such as in the range of 902-928 MHz. The transmitter and receiver are configured to provide for the transmission of two channels of stereophonic signals while maintaining high signal-to-noise ratios, good frequency response, and low distortion. To provide for the proper transmission of signals between transmitter 10 and receiver 12, these devices include oscillating circuits having ceramic resonators which provide a base frequency which is readily modulated to facilitate proper transmission of either analog or digital signals between the transmitter and receiver.
