  • Patent number: 4229738
Abstract: An early-late gate for a high resolution range tracking system of a radar ing a high frequency double-balanced mixer in conjunction with a bi-polar pulse gate allows simplified early-late gating for a range error measuring system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 19, 1979
Date of Patent: October 21, 1980
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Army
    Inventor: Robert T. Campbell
  • Patent number: 4083048
Abstract: In the error sensor system for range tracking, incoming radio frequency pes are coupled into two gates, an RF gate and an early-late gate. The signals are then processed and summed in quadrature to provide measurement of time alignment error between the RF pulses and a time reference for range tracking. Quadrature summing of the signals allows the time alignment error to be encoded as a phase angle which allows error decoding between the incoming radar frequency and the range tracker gating period, the alignment error being resolved by phase detecting the amplitude limited signal output.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 20, 1976
Date of Patent: April 4, 1978
Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the Army
Inventors: Robert J. DeRosa, Robert T. Campbell
