Abstract: A chimney cover that allows complete and unrestricted access to the chimney and flue liner without the necessity of removing any major component of the chimney cover from the chimney. The lid and spark arrestor cage are permanently secured together and then hinged in a suitable manner to a mounting frame that is secured to the chimney or to the flue liner. A positive locking device is provided so that the hinged lid and spark arrestor cage can be securely locked to the frame but easily unlocked so that the lid and cage can be swung out of the way to allow complete and unrestricted access to the chimney and flue.
