    Abstract: Polymeric silicon alkoxide solutions are produced and then stabilized by the addition of calcium acetate. The calcium acetate serves to prevent the rapid evaporation of the polymerized silicon solution when applied as a coating to various substrates. Glass fiber substrates are preferred.
