Abstract: An oil water separator is disclosed having a vertical, cylindrical tank with a plurality of corrugated, oleophilic plates. A corrugated diffusion baffle is located adjacent an oil-water mixture inlet to remove the larger particulate material from the mixture and to cause coalescing of the larger oil droplets. The flow of the oil-water mixture proceeds generally in a vertical direction and passes between the corrugated plates to cause further coalescing of the oil droplets. A separate oil channel directs the coalesced oil to an upper portion of the tank. The clarified water then passes downwardly to a clean water outlet. A second coalescing unit may be located upstream of the clean water outlet to further coalesce and remove the smaller oil droplets. In this case, a second oil relief channel directs these coalesced oil particles to the upper portion of the tank, from which the oil may be removed.

Abstract: A cylindrical tank arranged with its axis horizontal has an inlet at the top, at one end, arranged to direct drainage water mixed with oil onto the upper portion of a first sloping and transversely corrugated baffle member of less height than the tank but extending transversely across its interior. Spaced parallel baffle plates, also transversely corrugated and of less width than the tank, direct flow from the first baffle member upwardly and inwardly. A clarified water outlet extends to near the bottom of the tank at the other end and an oil withdrawing conduit is arranged to withdraw oil from the upper region of the tank near that other end. The tank is also provided with a sludge arresting baffle plate across its bottom and a sludge withdrawal access opening at its top.

Abstract: A fluid transfer apparatus for transferring gasoline, for example, to a bottom loading tank truck wherein a standpipe, rotatable about its vertical axis, is journalled at its upper end on an overhead support so that a rotary gland swivel at its bottom need be designed to support only the weight of the apparatus without having to resist bending moments. An articulated conduit assembly and counterbalance are mounted on the standpipe and rotate therewith throughout complete rotations about the vertical axis.
