Abstract: A universal utility device to be suspended from a structure, such as a roofing gutter or ladder, includes a generally rigid frame having a central opening for removably receiving an insert. The insert may be a plastic bag or a rigid formed insert designed to allow the device to perform a multitude of tasks. For example, the rigid formed insert may include a tray, a reel, or a combination thereof. The frame may include a structure engagement section designed to position the top surface of the frame at least as high as the top of the gutter when the device is suspended from the gutter. In another embodiment, the frame includes at least one wheel for facilitating the movement of the device along the gutter. The frame may also include a handle as well as a ladder engagement portion to suspend the device from a ladder.

Abstract: The multi-purpose Combo Jack.TM. tool combines the functions of a ladder jack, a roof bracket and a roof hooks into one piece of equipment. There are a pair of hooks attached to a rail supporting arm which is pivotably connected to a bracket body arm. The bracket body arm includes the plank stop lever and a retractable nailing blade. A combination support arm is connected to the rail support arm at either the tri-function setting or the steep roof bracket setting, and is also connected to the upward or downward slots in the bracket body arm (or at the end but not in a slot). The tool includes a safety stop as part of the retractable nailing blade, a ladder lock, and a safety protrusion to prevent collapse of the tool because of slippage along the bracket body arm by the combination support arm.

Abstract: A combination square and multi-purpose hand tool can be utilized as a large number of hand tools including a square, bevel square, stud and ceiling strapping spacer, clamp, caliper, string tender, and scribe. A first L shaped member includes a blade portion and a handle portion. A second member is pivotably and slidably coupled to the blade portion of the first member. Individual member dimensions such as the overall length of the first member, the maximum extended length of the second member along the first member, and the width of the blade portion of the first member are pre-established at selected lengths and widths, to provide predetermined functions for the present multi-purpose hand tool such as a stud spacer, ceiling strapping spacer and string tender.

Abstract: Method of creating a dormer, under any weather conditions, of any length up to the length of an existing gable roof, and involves cutting through portions of an existing roof section to establish a new dormer roof to enable the old roof to be saved, thereafter elevating the newly established dormer roof with respect to the remaining portions of the existing roof structure, and constructing a first dormer wall section under the outer edge portion of the dormer roof substantially parallel to the length of the roof, and constructing second and third dormer wall sections under the side portions of the newly created dormer roof. Preferably, the step of elevating the cutout dormer roof includes cutting away upper portions of the rafters after they are rotatably coupled together with hinged brackets.
