  • Publication number: 20080314337
Abstract: A system and method of using a set-back or programmable thermostat for heating or cooling systems to also controlling a fast-recovery water heater such as a power-vented fossil fuel powered water heater such that the water heater is disabled during a set-back mode of the thermostat. The system sends a control signal to a relay module adjacent to the water heater, into which the water heater electrical power cord can be plugged into. The interlock mechanism of the water heater prevents operation of the water heater when power to the water heater is interrupted.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 29, 2008

  • Patent number: 7111817
Abstract: A municipal water supply control system includes an underground water main, at least one water consumer station downstream from the water main, and an underground water delivery channel joining the water main to the water consumer. Underground valve means may be located either in the underground water main, the underground water delivery channel or in between the two for controlling the passage of water to each water consumer. Underground valve actuation means responsive to an activation signal activate the underground water valve means between a closed condition and an open condition. A data channel means establishes a wired or wireless data channel between a valve activation control means for issuing the activation signal and the underground valve actuation means.

  • Publication number: 20060202143
Abstract: A municipal fluids control system has an underground municipal fluids main, at least one consumer downstream from the main and an underground delivery channel joining the main with the consumer, an underground valve portion located either in the underground main, the underground delivery channel or there between for controlling the passage of fluids to the consumer. An underground valve activation portion is responsive to an activation signal for activating the underground valve portion between a closed condition and an open condition. A valve activation control portion is provided for issuing the activation signal and data channel portion for establishing a wired or wireless data channel between the valve activation control portion and the underground valve actuation portion to deliver the activation signal thereto.
