  • Publication number: 20240327437
Abstract: A highly efficient and safe N-cyanation and N-phosphorylation reagent for the de novo synthesis of pharmaceutically acceptable cyclocreatine and salts was achieved using trichloroacetonitrile in lieu of highly toxic cyanogen bromide (CNBr) for generating the required cyclocreatine (CCr) intermediates, followed by highly effective N-phosphorylation through pH control using phosphoryl chloride with high conversion to the corresponding cyclocreatine phosphate (CCrP) targets. A continuous flow reactor system was engineered to improve the efficiency of the process and deliver a product with improved yield, safety, and cost efficiency.

  • Patent number: 8668406
Abstract: The invention facilitates provision of a point-to-point cable connection between first and second points separated by an extended span of water including a first region of shallow water and a second region of relatively deep water. A plurality of ducts are provided from the first point through the first region of the extended span to an offshore termination point between the first and second points. Preferably, the ducts are buried in the seabed to prevent damage. At least one first cable is placed in one of the plurality of ducts to provide a connection between the first point and the offshore termination point. A second cable from the second point is received at the offshore termination point. The first cable is connected to the second cable at the offshore termination point to create the point-to-point cable connection. In one embodiment, the offshore termination point is located on the continental shelf near the transition to deep water.

  • Publication number: 20120007615
Abstract: A method of dealing with the electrode polarization error when analyzing a dielectric test medium is achieved by firstly applying an excitation current to the test medium at a test frequency, by means of a first electric couple (23, 24) comprising excitation electrodes (23, 24). Next the voltage across the excitation electrode couple (23, 24) is measured and the voltage across a second couple of electrodes (25, 26) is also measured. The measured voltages across the first and second electrode couples are compared in order to derive a polarization correction factor which is used to provide a corrective value for the capacitance, or conductivity measurement. The method is suitable for use in industrial on-line applications.

  • Publication number: 20080001452
Abstract: Many law enforcement officers have lower back problems arising from the habitual wearing of what is generally known as a “Sam Browne” duty belt. Workmen's Compensation now presumes any lower back ailment suffered by a law enforcement officer was caused by a duty belt; and consequently, automatically covers such back problem. A duty belt seat accessory for minimizing excessive pressure on the lower back of a law enforcement officer when he wears a duty belt is disclosed. The seat accessory comprises: a lower back portion having a minimal thickness; an upper back portion having a thickness generally exceeding the thickness of the lower back portion and the equipped duty belt; and, a positioning and support means to maintain the back portion in an upright position adjacent to a seat. When the officer leans back his back is supported largely by the upper back portion of the seat accessory and there is no excessive back pressure on his lower back as a result of the equipped duty belt he is wearing.

  • Publication number: 20070233805
Abstract: Parallel operation sets for use by a software application are identified. Each parallel operation set is then provided to a master computing thread for processing, together with its associated process data. Each master computing thread will then provide its operation set to one or more slave computers based upon parallelism in the process data associated with its operation set. In this manner, the execution of operations by a software application is widely distributed among multiple networked computers based upon parallelism in both the process data used by the software and the operations executed by the software application.

  • Patent number: 6973633
Abstract: One or more control points are identified within a reticle layout that is used in a simulation of a manufacturing process for an integrated device layer. Further, a current geometrical layout pattern is determined in the vicinity of the control points, and a cache is searched for a matching geometrical layout pattern. If the search is successful, a simulation result associated with the matching geometrical layout pattern is retrieved from the cache and reused for the current geometrical layout pattern. Alternatively, if the search is unsuccessful, a simulation result associated with the current geometrical design pattern is computed and stored in the cache for future reuse.
