  • Patent number: 8055191
Abstract: A method and structure that supports the formation of co-linear device pairs and mitigation of undesired interference in a digital multi-media communication environment. Compass orientation information of co-located devices within range of one another in a wireless communication environment is used to determine whether sufficiently co-linear device pairing opportunities exist and may also be used to identify and/or mitigate undesired interference conditions. Various remedial actions may be performed to enhance co-linear device pairing and mitigation action may be taken to mitigation interference between substantially co-linear and co-located devices in the environment.

  • Publication number: 20100194985
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to provide a method and system for the generation and display of a channel space state for a band of frequencies in a wireless display device. One novel method enables the display of a channel space state by continuously or repeatedly scanning, in a remote wireless transceiver, a channel space to determine a channel space state. The channel space state is communicated to the wireless display device. When interference for the channel used to transmit content to the wireless display device is detected during a scan, a graphical representation of the channel space state is displayed in the wireless display.

  • Patent number: 7693103
Abstract: A system and method for automatically performing a channel selection procedure in a wireless network includes a forward transmitter that embeds an identifier into forward data that is transmitted over a forward link. A forward receiver then receives the forward data on the forward link, and removes the identifier from the forward data. A reverse transmitter receives the identifier from the forward receiver, and embeds the identifier into reverse data that is transmitted over a reverse link on a selected reverse channel chosen from among a plurality of available reverse channels. A reverse receiver then searches the reverse channels to identify the selected reverse channel containing reverse data with the identifier embedded. The reverse receiver may then utilize the reverse data received over the identified reverse channel.

  • Patent number: 7598923
Abstract: To achieve ultra-high bandwidth data transmission according to embodiments of the invention, a plurality of parallel 60 GHz band frequency signals traveling in substantially parallel paths is employed. A connector or housing includes a plurality of metallized, grounded shells or chambers having antenna pairs that are embedded therein. There is no physical contact between the transmitter and receiver antennas. Instead, the metallized, grounded connector chambers provide isolation between adjacent radio links which all operate on the same frequency.

  • Publication number: 20080059664
Abstract: The present apparatus and method control the flow of communication between a host and a data storage device. A plurality of data transport streams are maintained as active while a first burst of data for a first transport stream is initiated. The first burst is interrupted prior to the complete communication of the burst. The first transport stream is maintained as active and a first burst of data for a second transport stream is initiated. The first burst of the second transport stream is interrupted, the second transport stream is maintained as active and the method and apparatus return to continue the communication of the first burst of the first transport stream. Typically, a first stream ID is asserted prior to initiating the first burst of the first transport stream and a second stream ID is initiated prior to initiating the first burst of the second transport stream.

  • Publication number: 20070064951
Abstract: An encrypted content transport stream is received by a viewer's device and recorded for subsequent playback. During recording, keys in headers of packets of the stream are stripped and placed in sequence in a table. Also, the table indicates changes in key indicating bits. When it is desired to play the content, start-of-frame indicator bits such as PUSI and/or RAI bits are used to access the table of keys to retrieve the keys necessary to decrypt the transport stream packets sought to be played.
