  • Patent number: 11961952
Abstract: A secondary battery is provided for cycling between a charged and a discharged state, the secondary battery including a battery enclosure, an electrode assembly, carrier ions, a non-aqueous liquid electrolyte within the battery enclosure, and a set of electrode constraints. The set of electrode constraints includes a primary constraint system having first and second primary growth constraints and at least one primary connecting member, the first and second primary growth constraints separated from each other in the longitudinal direction, wherein the primary constraint array restrains growth of the electrode assembly in the longitudinal direction such that any increase in the Feret diameter of the electrode assembly in the longitudinal direction over 20 consecutive cycles of the secondary battery is less than 20%.

  • Patent number: 11937951
Abstract: A method of generating corrected fluorescence data of concentrations of a targeted fluorophore in tissue of a subject includes administering first and second fluorescent contrast agents to the subject, the first contrast agent targeted to tissue of interest, the second agent untargeted. The tissue is illuminated with light of a first stimulus wavelength and first data is acquired at an appropriate emissions wavelength; the tissue is illuminated at a second stimulus wavelength and second data is acquired at a second emissions wavelength associated with the second agent, the first and second emissions wavelength differ. Difference data is generated by subtracting the second data from the first data. A system provides for stimulus and capture at multiple wavelengths, with image storage memory and subtraction code, to perform the method. Corrected data may form an fluorescence image, or is used to generate fluorescence tomographic images.

  • Patent number: 8768468
Abstract: An apparatus for the electro-physiologic stimulation of the human nervous system includes a positive electrical assembly having an integrated circuit (IC) producing a sequence of physiologically compatible and acceptable electromagnetic waveforms, the IC having ungrounded positive and negative outputs of the waveforms, a battery substantially in electrical communication with the IC board, a positive treatment pad at a bottom of the positive assembly in electrical communication with the positive output of the waveforms. An upper and middle housing is in swivel contact with a lower housing. Also included is a flexible housing for the electrical cable. Further included is a negative assembly in electrical communication with an opposite end of the cable, carrying the negative side of the waveforms, a negative treatment pad in axial electrical communication with a bottom of a housing secured about the cable.

  • Patent number: 8457745
Abstract: A therapeutic waveform for neurophysiologic treatment of conditions associated with function of ionic channels of beta cells of the pancreas includes a positive part having a pulse width of 40 to 60 milliseconds having a positively pointing segment, and includes a negative part dropping sharply negatively following the positive part. The negative drop is 75 to 90 percent of the peak-to-peak voltage of the waveform at about 10 to 100 volts AC. A negative spike-like first aspect of the negative part exhibits a pulse width of 40 to 60 milliseconds but afterwards gradually approaches a neutral voltage level of the waveform. The first aspect of the negative part of the waveform is followed by a second aspect which more slowly approaches the neutral level over a period of 100 to 200 milliseconds, before the next waveform. The current of the waveform is 300 to 1000 micro-amperes.

  • Patent number: 6339384
Abstract: A device for automatically paying a toll for a vehicle passing through a toll booth. The toll payment device includes a transmitting device and a switch. The transmitting device includes a receiver for receiving a signal from an antenna at the toll booth; a memory unit for storing identification information associated with the device; and a transmitter connected to both the receiver and memory unit for transmitting a signal including the stored identification information to the antenna upon receipt of the signal and allowing the antenna to charge an account associated with the device. The switch selectively disconnects the memory unit from the transmitter thereby preventing transmission of the identification information to the antenna and charging of the account associated with the device.

  • Patent number: 6079930
Abstract: The present invention discloses a generally upwardly standing wheeled cart 10 having a ground level scoop 22 on its front end wherein tennis balls 12 can be scooped up and routed upwardly through a hopper 41 into a ball basket 28 when the cart 10 is moved in the forward direction. The front wheels 16 of the cart have axles 46 which serve to drive a belt 40 having flexible projecting edges 42 which belt 40 is located on the inside of the cart 10 which belt 40 turns in a counter clockwise direction and forces the tennis balls 12 upwardly through the enclosure of the cart by trapping the balls between the belt 40 which is the width of the cart 10 and the rear wall 44 of the cart 10 wherewith the balls 12 are forced upwardly and out of the top of the cart 10 into a rear hanging basket 28.
