The cup includes a bottom that acts as a tamping member, and this bottom is movable to vary the size of the cup reservoir. Once the cup is positioned in the brewer, the closing of the cup forces engagement of the tamping member and an engagement member positioner in the brewing chamber, resulting in the tamping member being moved to compress the coffee.

Abstract: A beverage brewing system is adapted to have a brewing configuration, in which, a brewing chamber has a brewing substance therein, a bottle initially has a fluid therein, a lid is located over a cup, the bottle is removably attached to the lid and located over the lid, the brewing chamber is located between the bottle and the cup, and a blow-out valve is located between the bottle and the brewing chamber so that the blow-out valve initially hinders a flow of the fluid from the bottle to the brewing chamber. The blow-out valve is adapted to be breached at a predetermined pressure when the fluid is heated to allow the fluid to pass through the brewing chamber into the cup to form a brewed fluid. The entire system is preferably disposable and microwavable. Preferably, the system has a compact storage configuration and a portable drinking configuration as well.

Abstract: A portable communications system and method is provided in accordance with the present invention. The system includes a chip antenna for transmitting and receiving RF signals and a communications module case for mounting the chip antenna and providing a chip antenna ground plane. A communications subsystem is associated with the communications module case and is operatively coupled to the chip antenna for processing the RF signal.

Abstract: A portable communications and display system and methodology is provided in accordance with the present invention. The system includes a chip antenna for transmitting and receiving RF signals, a lens material for mounting the chip antenna and a conductive material for providing a chip antenna ground plane. The conductive material provides an operative coupling between the lens material and the chip antenna. A communications subsystem is provided that is associated with the lens material and is operatively coupled to the chip antenna for processing the RF signals.

Abstract: A system for customizing computers to mate with an array of wire or cable terminus connectors includes a detachable wire or cable terminus connector mounting assembly. The wire terminus connector mounting assembly includes a cover plate and an interfacing circuit board. The cover plate may be customized to present an array of selected computer-based connectors which are electrically connected to the computer by the interfacing circuit board which includes a standard connection array at a predetermined location.
