Patent number: 11955207Abstract: The disclosure provides systems and methods for data analysis of experimental data. The analysis can include reference data that are not directly generated from the present experiment, which reference data may be values of the experimental parameters that were either provided by a user, computed by the system with input from a user, or computed by the system without using any input from a user. Another example of such reference data may be information about the instrument, such as the calibration method of the instrument.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2016Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Assignee: Emerald Cloud Lab, Inc.Inventors: Alex M. Patent number: 7978854Abstract: In asymmetric cryptography, initially-set public key and private keys are updated as a function of the chosen prime number pair, a host sending an updated public key exponent and a unique prime-pair key associated with the chosen prime number pair to the client, the client using the unique prime-pair key to look-up and retrieve the chosen prime number pair and determine the updated public key and the updated private key as a function of the retrieved chosen prime number pair, the host and the client encrypting and decrypting exchanged messages with the updated public key and the updated private key without executing another handshake. In one aspect, a large even integer is used by host and client to generate a plurality of prime number pairs, and the unique prime-pair key may be a distance between each prime number of an associated prime number pair.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2008Date of Patent: July 12, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert W. Patent number: 7584274Abstract: A method, system, and program for coordinating use of independent external resources within requesting grid environments. A external resource dispatcher receives requests for use of external resources. The external resource dispatcher controls the dispatch of a pool of external resources hidden from the grid management systems of requesting grid clients. In particular, the external resource dispatcher coordinates dispatch of a selection of the external resources for temporary registration with a requesting grid client management system. The requesting grid client management system registers the external resources for use within the grid client and monitors whether the external resources are still needed. When a requesting grid client no longer needs a dispatched external resource, the external resource dispatcher controls detachment of the dispatched external resource and returns the external resource to the available pool of external resources.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2004Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Robert W. Patent number: 5080726Abstract: A method is provided for obtaining an alloy having an ordered microstructure which comprises the steps of heating the central portion of the alloy under uniform temperature so that it enters a liquid phase while the outer portions remain solid, applying a constant electric current through the alloy during the heating step, and solidifying the liquid central portion of the alloy by subjecting it to a temperature-gradient zone so that cooling occurs in a directional manner and at a given rate of speed while maintaining the application of the constant electric current through the alloy. The method is particularly suitable for use with nickel-based superalloys. The method of the present invention produces an alloy having superior characteristics such as reduced segregation. After subsequent precipitation by heat-treatment, the alloys produced by the present invention will have excellent strength and high-temperature resistance.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1990Date of Patent: January 14, 1992Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Administrator of the National Aeornautics and Space AdministrationInventors: Eugene C.
