  • Publication number: 20200110185
Abstract: A system for surveying a subsurface formation includes one or more electromagnetic sensors located at or above the surface of the Earth. The sensors are configured to detect passive-source source signals and return signals that are based on seismoelectric or electroseismic conversion of the source signal in the subsurface formation. The system includes a processor communicatively coupled to the one more electromagnetic sensors. The at least one processor is configured to align and stack the passive-source source signals and the return signals and determine a property of the subsurface formation based, at least in part, on the aligned and stacked passive-source source signals and the return signals.

  • Patent number: 5628386
Abstract: A restrainer for shopping cart wheels is a strip of stainless steel or other resilient metal, bent into a generally C-shaped curve. The restrainer is compressed and inserted into the space between a shopping cart wheel and its frame; a shoulder and a tab on a straight end of the restrainer engage the wheel frame to hold the strip in place. A curved end of the restrainer bears against the wheel with sufficient force that resulting friction will prevent the cart from rolling freely down an incline of less than about 15.degree., while allowing the cart to be pushed by shoppers in the usual way. Corrugations in the curved midsection of the strip add stiffness to increase the amount of friction applied to the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4571754
Abstract: Disclosed is a standup toilet which can be directly incorporated into or attached to a conventional walker. The walker provides good stability both for the standup toilet and the person who is using it. The toilet structure has a frame with a support arm which can preferably be pivoted between a horizontal support position and a vertical position. The toilet frame can advantageously have a hook end and an attachment means to facilitate easy attachment and detachment of the frame from the walker.

  • Patent number: 4442437
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dual frequency band, dual-mode feedhorn comprising three serially connected waveguide sections (20, 22, 24) and a separate discontinuity (21, 23) at each joint between waveguide sections. More particularly, the feedhorn comprises a first waveguide section (20) for supporting the TE.sub.11 mode in both frequency bands. A first discontinuity (21) symmetrically increases the first waveguide size for converting a portion of the TE.sub.11 mode in both frequency bands into the TM.sub.11 mode. The second waveguide section (22) connected to the first discontinuity comprises an aperture size for supporting the TE.sub.11 mode in both frequency bands but only the TM.sub.11 mode of the higher frequency band. A second discontinuity (23) symmetrically increases the size of the second waveguide for converting another portion of the TE.sub.11 mode in both frequency bands into the TM.sub.11 mode.

  • Patent number: 4032998
Abstract: A stand up toilet for handicapped persons who are unable to bend at the waist and incapable of sitting on a conventional form of toilet. The stand up toilet includes four upright legs that are connected together by a horizontal rectangular support plate. The legs and plate are releasably connected so that the device may be easily assembled and disassembled. The support is located below upper ends of the legs. An upwardly open container is loosely received between the upward projections of the legs and rests loosely against the support. The container includes an elongated upwardly facing opening and provides an upward and outwardly projecting deflector flange along a rear side thereof. The container is loosely held by the legs and support so it may be easily removed and replaced. An adjustment feature enables upward and downward adjustment of the container by elevationally changing the support level.

  • Patent number: 3997926
Abstract: A bed including an open supportive framework pivotably mounting an occupant support platform for movement between a horizontal and an upright position. The bed includes a drive mechanism and associated motor with controls to enable selective movement of the platform between the two positions. The drive assembly includes a lead screw operatively connecting the open framework to the platform. A nut pivotably mounted on the framework threadably receives the screw which, when turned, causes pivotal movement of the platform between the two positions. The framework is open at a foot end of the bed to enable an occupant to move freely toward or away from the support platform. The platform includes a foot rest assembly that may be selectively moved longitudinally relative to the platform between an operative and inoperative position. In the operative position, the foot rest may be utilized to receive and support the weight of the occupant.
