  • Patent number: 5908648
Abstract: Methods for producing a fully cooked and breaded bone-in poultry product, such as chicken, in which the steps of pre-dusting, batter, breading and par-frying are performed in advance of full cooking in a vapor cooker.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5303996
Abstract: A cable or wire (information bus, power supply, etc.) retention method and apparatus for modular computer cabinets and the like in which the cabinet frame end walls have notch-like voids. The preferred embodiment for a cable retainer has a frame member with two cantilever portions, which frame member is spot-welded to several struts at other (non-cantilever) portions. The top and bottom struts protrude the frame member, and are longer than the distance between the cabinet end walls. The cable retainer is connected to the cabinet by inserting one pivoting strut tip into a receiving hole and causing the cantilever portion nearest the receiving hole to deform (causing deeper penetration of the inserted tip) so that a clearance is obtained between the other pivot end and its corresponding receiving hole, prior to releasing the cable retainer. Insertion is completed by pivoting the cable retainer to an upright position to latch the latching ends in cabinet end wall grooves.

  • Patent number: 5173690
Abstract: A passive ranging system for determining the slant range from a ground station to a drifting radiosonde. In one embodiment, the ground station receives meteorological data ranging and internal temperature signals from the radiosonde. The data signals are read out as ambient conditions of the atmosphere and the range signal is phase-compared to a reference signal at periodic intervals. Changes in frequency due to temperature fluctuations in the radiosonde components are factored into the phase-comparison, and the resultant change in phase represents movement of the radiosonde. In another embodiment the range tone from a remote broadcast station is retransmitted by the radiosonde and received at the ground station simultaneously with the same tone directly from the broadcast station. The phase lag is measured and coupled with measurements of direction from the ground station to the radiosonde, and with the distance between the ground station and the broadcast station for determining the slant range.

  • Patent number: 5016947
Abstract: A cable or wire (information bus, power supply, etc.) carrying method and apparatus for modular computer cabinets and the like in which the cabinet frame end walls have notch-like voids. The notches, preferably on the rear side of the cabinets are nearly fully enclosed, save a small opening (to preserve structural integrity) through which the cables may enter. The openings are covered by closure members and decorative trims once the cable is in place. The result is a modular computer system without unsightly wires, and in which the modules may be easily and quickly inserted or removed without the need for dismantling the cable attached to the backs of the other modules.

  • Patent number: 4972576
Abstract: An apparatus for containment and alignment of wire terminations has a wire holder with a slidable retainer. The front of the wire holder has oval-shaped holes for partially receiving several oval-shaped wire terminations to be connected to electronic equipment, and for reducing rotational motion of the wire terminations. Smaller holes connected to the oval-shaped holes receive the wires, but prohibit further movement of the wire terminations into the wire holder so that wire terminations uniformly protrude from the wire holder. Slots at the back of the wire holder receive the wires, which wires are frictionally locked into place by the retainer.
