Publication number: 20020189988Abstract: A water pump normally used in a water filtering system for a circulating water of a swimming pool water through a water filter cartridge is used to clean the filter by coupling a 3-way valve or an in line valve and a tee in the piping between the pump and the water filter. In the a first position of the valve, the filter housing receives the entire water output from the pump and a second position the entire water output of the pump is diverted to a flexible hose secured to first water discharge wand. A circular ring-shaped manifold with an array of water discharged apertures direct streams of water radially outward into the filter cartridge in a direction opposite to the flow of water through the filter cartridge when located in a filter housing for hydraulically flush debris from a filter cartridge. A second wand with a C-shaped manifold is then connected to the hose and used direct water streams onto the outer periphery of the filter.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2001Publication date: December 19, 2002Inventors: Kenneth R.
