  • Publication number: 20020019168
Abstract: A floating terminal connector for use with a circuit substrate having a plurality of elongated conductors. A pin retention structure is axially aligned with through holes on a connector body. A terminal pin passes through the through hole and pin retention structure. An annular projection on the terminal provides a stop to the float travel of the terminal pin in one direction. A head on the terminal pin stops float travel of the terminal pin in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 5966267
Abstract: A compression arm connector for connecting two circuit substrates in a disk drive and a method of producing the same are provided. The compression arm connector replaces the need for two vertical connectors and a base plate header traditionally used in disk drives for connecting the two circuit substrates. Another compression arm connector for connecting wires to solder pads on a circuit substrate are also provided. The contacts of this compression arm connector are bent through an angle of more than about 90.degree. to form a deflectable member and a solder member. The solder member may be exposed through the connector housing through the use of solder windows or passageways formed in the housing. Both connectors are capable of exhibiting large wipe and deflection capabilities. Additionally, both connectors can be used in a low-cost disk drive provided by the invention.

  • Patent number: 5640303
Abstract: An interconnection assembly for electrically connecting the contacts of an integrated circuit device with the contacts of said circuit board. The interconnection assembly having a base removably and adjustably attached to the circuit board and further having a preselected configuration for accepting the integrated circuit device therein such that the contacts thereon are aligned with the contacts on the circuit board. A bladder-like member having fluid therein is interposed between the integrated circuit and a closure element for forcing the bladder-like member into contact with the integrated circuit device thereby causing the contacts thereon to make electrical connections with the contacts on the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 5568868
Abstract: An integrated circuit carrier system having a carrier frame made up of a plurality of juxtaposed sides and an interior configuration sized to matingly engage an integrated circuit package. The integrated circuit package fits within the frame and is held in position therein by a plurality of locking clips which slidably engage a plurality of top and bottom channels diagonally disposed at each of the corners of the frame. Each locking clip is made up of a substantially C-shaped structure having an uppermost leg and a lowermost leg. The uppermost leg ends in a substantially perpendicularly disposed locking tab and the lowermost leg has a variety of locking arrangements, one of which permits the locking clip to be locked in two locking positions. In one locking position the integrated circuit package is held securely in place while in the other locking position the integrated circuit package may be inserted or removed from the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5289345
Abstract: A housing for interconnecting an opto-electronic device with a ferrule includes a base and a cover cooperable with the base to define a chamber. The housing also includes an elastomeric board mount, with pylons supporting a substrate, disposed in a sealing relationship between the base and the cover when the same are conjoined and arranged to seal legs on the substrate that extend through the elastomeric board mount.

  • Patent number: 5167989
Abstract: Process for coating tacky surface areas of an object, e.g., polymer surfaces making tacky areas by irradiation, commprising bringing particulate coating material, e.g., pigments, metals, etc., into contact with the tacky surface areas, and removing excess particulate coating material particularly from non-tacky areas, the particulate coating material being compressed beyond its bulk density by continuous vibration for at least a part of the time the particulate coating material is in contact with the surface to be coated. The process is useful in the preparation of color TV screens, electrical circuits, etc.

  • Patent number: 5011246
Abstract: A housing for interconnecting an opto-electronic device with a ferrule includes a base, a cover cooperable with the base to define a chamber, and a mounting member is characterized by a pivot arrangement disposed on the mounting member and cooperating with at least one of the base or the cover for accommodating pivotal motion of the mounting member to permit the axis of the mounting member to translate in two orthogonal directions in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the chamber and also to permit the top of the mounting member to displace in the perpendicular plane to align the axis of the mounting member collinearly with the axis of the ferrule. The housing also includes an elastomeric board mount disposed in a sealing relationship between the base and the cover when the same are conjoined and arranged to seal legs on a substrate that extend through the elastomeric board mount.
