Patent number: 5329784Abstract: Leveling arms for a low profile room air conditioner which are pivotally mounted to a side of an air conditioner housing at an inner end and have an arcuate slotted opening adjacent an outer end. A threaded fastener or clamping bolt is threaded into the air conditioner housing and extends through the arcuate opening. The threaded fastener is loosened to allow the position of the associated arm to be adjusted. The arms have an inner surface providing a series of radial teeth which mesh with like teeth on the outer surface of the housing when the threaded fastener is tightened, thereby retaining the arms in the desired position.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1993Date of Patent: July 19, 1994Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Kennedy, Richard F. Stewart

Patent number: 5253485Abstract: A room air conditioner for mounting in a window opening having a vertically sliding lower sash. The enclosure for the unit has front and rear portions separated by the vertical plane of the window opening, the compressor and condenser heat exchanger being mounted in the rear portion, and the evaporator heat exchanger being mounted in the front portion. A motor that is connected to an axial flow fan at one end and a coaxial centrifugal blower wheel at the other end is also located in the rear portion. The axial flow fan is operatively associated with the condenser heat exchanger and the centrifugal blower wheel is operatively associated with the evaporator heat exchanger. The forward enclosure portion and the evaporator heat exchanger extend above the bottom of the bottom rail of the lower sash, and the rear housing portion and the condenser heat exchanger extend above the bottom rail of the lower sash and substantially below the level of the window sill.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Patent number: 5121677Abstract: A pizza making machine for applying selected ingredients to a pizza crust comprising a number of side-by-side dispensing stations, one station for each of a number of topping ingredients, with each station including means for storing and delivering on command a preselected amount of selected topping ingredient to a crust and means for supporting and sequentially moving the crust under the dispensers so that the topping ingredients are dispensed sequentially on the crust. The custom pizza is then selectively deliverable to a customer uncooked, or to an oven where it is baked in accordance with the selected ingredients and delivered to the customer.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1989Date of Patent: June 16, 1992Assignee: Edible Technology, Inc.Inventors: Harry E. Patent number: 4742691Abstract: A portable dehumidifier of the domestic type includes a one piece, vertically extending, plastic frame supporting a condenser/evaporator module, a fan module, and a condensate collecting bucket. The frame, providing an integral air flow duct at its upper end, is supported at its lower end by a metal base plate. The base plate supports a hermetic refrigeration compressor providing refrigerant to the condenser/evaporator module positioned within the duct. The evaporator portion of the condenser/evaporator module is formed from a continuous length of partially flattened tubing spirally wound inwardly and then outwardly to form two adjacent sections of evaporator coil. In a similar manner, the condenser portion of the condenser/evaporator module is formed from a continuous length of finned tubing spirally wound inwardly and then outwardly to form two adjacent sections of condenser coil.Type: GrantFiled: June 2, 1986Date of Patent: May 10, 1988Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventor: Robert W. Patent number: 4731903Abstract: A hinge for mounting an access door on a room air conditioner has a hinge member having a tang at one end engaging a slot on the air conditioner front frame to mount the hinge member in a fixed position. The other end of the hinge member has a pair of resilient legs interspaced by a projection and which carry projecting trunnions on their outer ends. The door has a notch in its side having opposed side walls with bores that receive the projecting trunnions to pivot the door about the hinge member. The hinge provides a self-latching arrangement by a projecting, resilient tongue on the hinge member which engages a projecting lug on the door to resiliently bias the door to a closed position when it is within a predetermined distance from the closed position.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1986Date of Patent: March 22, 1988Assignee: White Consolidated Industries, Inc.Inventors: Robert W. Kennedy, Howard J. Tyler

Patent number: 4276241Abstract: A humidifier unit with a water supply reservoir, a media unit which passes through the reservoir and picks up moisture, a motor and fan unit together with drive mechanism for rotating the media unit and for blowing air through the media unit and into the surrounding area, and a removable, refillable liquid water treatment dispenser. As depicted, the humidifier is a console room humidifier with the water reservoir accessible from the rear. The removable dispenser is an auxiliary unit consisting of an elongate bottle, the cap of which carries a spring biased poppet valve with a projecting stem. The bottle is inverted and received through an opening in the top wall of the humidifier with its valve operating stem resting on an abutment above a flow passage funnel unit mounted on structure within the humidifier above the water reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1978Date of Patent: June 30, 1981Assignee: White-Westinghouse CorporationInventors: Richard F.
