  • Patent number: 5349716
Abstract: A squeegee for the wiping down of curved or flat surfaces, the squeegee including a handle and a blade arrangement mounted substantially transversely to the handle. The blade arrangement preferably comprises a blade body including a pair of spaced apart blade members. The blade body is mounted to a resilient blade back which has a concave curvature along the length of the blade arrangement, i.e., substantially transverse to the handle, the blade back having a predetermined radius curvature of from about 200 to about 1000 millimeters. Each of the blade members is preferably comprised of a resilient material and is preferably disposed at an angle of from about 10.degree. to about 90.degree. to the surface to be wiped. The blade back may be flattened out so as to conform to the contour of the surface being wiped by application of relatively modest force to the handle.

  • Patent number: 4895102
Abstract: A spin coater suitable for spin coating spectacle lens molds with polymerizable coating composition. The spin coater includes a drawer which rotatably mounts at least one chuck thereon, which drawer is slidable between a front and rear position within a housing to sequentially allow application of a coating by the spinning chucks in the front chamber of the housing, followed by polymerization thereof in the rear chamber. Each chuck of the spin coater is provided with a mold seat defined by a ledge and adjacent lip, the lip automatically centering the mold in the seat axis by virtue of its dimensions in relation to the mold. The chuck also has a lengthwise resilient vacuum conduit, preferably in the form of a bellows, which has an open end which can sealingly engage against a seated mold, such that when a vacuum is applied through the vacuum conduit the mold is urged firmly against the ledge of the mold seat.

  • Patent number: 4391292
Abstract: A fast-response three-way solenoid valve. A housing has three openings interconnected by a linear fluid pathway, with two chambers each disposed between two openings and having at least one valve seat per chamber. In each chamber a ball is movable toward and away from a valve seat to open and to close off the flow of fluid there. A separator pin is disposed, with clearance, within the linear pathway between the two chambers and bearing against both balls; when one ball is seated against its seat, the other ball is away from its seat. A solenoid has a plunger which moves upon energization of the solenoid, and a guide passage between the plunger and one chamber is aligned with both chambers and the balls. A plunger pin disposed in the guide passage bears against one ball on the side thereof opposite to the separator pin; the other end of the plunger pin bears against the plunger when the solenoid is energized.
