  • Patent number: 6352601
Abstract: The invention relates to the field of ice protectors for inhibiting atmospheric ice accumulation on aircraft structures. More particularly, the invention relates to the bonding of an ice protector to an aircraft structure. According to an aspect of the invention, a device for inhibiting atmospheric ice accumulation on an aircraft structure is provided comprising a flexible ice protector, an intermediate layer bonded to the flexible ice protector, and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer bonded to the intermediate layer. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer defines a bonding surface that bonds the ice protector to the aircraft structure.

  • Patent number: 5701750
Abstract: A thermal zone demand controlled dual cascade arranged heat pump system and system controller for building spaces, having first and second heat pumps and having an air circulation system for circulating air to and from said thermal zones and including a conditioned air chamber having first and second heat exchange refrigerant coils being connected in refrigerant circulating relation respectively with the heat pumps. A plurality of thermal zone blowers conduct conditioned air, heated or cooled, from the conditioned air chamber to respective thermal zones of the building space. Electronic controller circuitry of the system is coupled for thermal demand control of the heat pumps and the thermal zone blowers for operation of the first heat pump to accommodate a predetermined range of thermal load and for operation of the second heat pump along with the first heat pump to accommodate a greater thermal load.

  • Patent number: 4024644
Abstract: A gauge for determining the headspace in a liquid-filled container. The gauge is composed of a flat bar of transparent material having a beveled upper horizontal edge, and a series of probes of progressively increasing length extend downwardly from the lower edge of the bar. The gauge is placed on the upper edge of a container with the probes extending downwardly into the interior of the container. Darkened spots will appear on the beveled surface above the probes that are engaged with the liquid in the container, thereby providing a precise indication of the headspace or liquid level in the container.
