    Abstract: A system to prevent an automobile door from being locked while the key is in the ignition switch and the driver is outside comprising an electric circuit including a switch on the ignition lock that is closed when the key is in the lock, a switch on the door that is closed when the door is open and a switch on the door lock mechanism that is closed when the lock mechanism is moved toward the locked position; the closing of all three switches activating a solenoid which moves the lock mechanism to the unlocked position.
