  • Patent number: 9151426
Abstract: A closure fitting for enclosing a portion of one or more carrier conduits between a first containment conduit section and an opposed second containment conduit section has: (a) a first cylindrical hollow body; (b) a second cylindrical hollow body, the second body being reversibly attached in fluid tight communication to the first body; (c) a first seal for sealing the first body to the first containment conduit section and a second seal for sealing the second body to the second containment conduit section, wherein and (d) a third seal for reversibly sealing the first body to the second body. In the invention, at least one of the first or second seals allows one of the bodies to axially move with respect to its containment conduit section.

  • Publication number: 20070272308
Abstract: (a) a body; (b) a valve seat; (c) a flapper; (d) a hinge pin attached to the body proximate to the valve seat and disposed substantially perpendicular to the fluid flow path; and (e) at least one flapper dog attached to the flapper, the flapper dog defining an aperture, the hinge pin being disposed through the aperture such that the flapper dog is rotatable around the hinge pin, the aperture in the flapper dog being oblong in shape.

  • Patent number: 7004194
Abstract: A check valve has a valve body and flapper. The flapper has a gasket which is sandwiched between a flapper base and a flapper cover. The flapper base has a flapper base stem which extends through an aperture in the gasket is retained within an aperture in the flapper cover. A central recess is defined in either the forward surface of the flapper base or the forward surface of the flapper cover to allow liquid which leaks between the flapper base and the gasket to migrate to the flapper base stem, and subsequently along the flapper base stem to the external side of the flapper cover. In this way, the flapper is capable of relieving pressure build-up between the gasket and the surface of the flapper base.

  • Patent number: 5697628
Abstract: An exercise and support bar apparatus mounted in brackets on a wheelchair and method for using same. The bar can be adjusted to be more or less proximate the occupant by removing the upstanding portions of the bar from the brackets, turning the apparatus end-for-end, and re-inserting the upstanding portions in the bracket. Angular and height adjustments are also provided by the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5582439
Abstract: A strengthened pipe fitting for connecting to an externally threaded surface and a method for making a strengthened pipe fitting for connecting to an externally threaded surface is provided. The strengthened pipe fitting comprises a pipe fitting having an internally threaded surface initiating from the attachment end and a compression band fitted onto the attachment end of the pipe fitting. The pipe fitting is initially manufactured, in absence of the compression band, to have an internally threaded surface with a pitch diameter larger than that specified for mating with the externally threaded surface. The compression band is then fitted onto the attachment end of the pipe fitting. The compression band is uniquely sized to compress the internally threaded surface sufficiently so that the internally threaded surface of the strengthened pipe fitting mates with the externally threaded member.

  • Patent number: 5109929
Abstract: A sprinkler head adapter comprising an internally threaded plastic fitting, a metal insert with both internal and external threads, and a sealing gasket is disclosed. The internally threaded passageway of the insert tapers inwardly. The diameters of the internally threaded fitting and of the externally threaded insert are substantially constant. The threads of the fitting and the corresponding external threads of the insert can be straight threads. The internal threads of the insert can be tapered threads corresponding to the threads of a metallic sprinkler head.
