  • Publication number: 20090277313
Abstract: A cordless motor assisted torque wrench. In an example embodiment, the torque wrench includes an elongated housing adapted to enclose an elongated battery pack, a drive head pivotably connected to a first end of the elongated housing at a pivot connection, an electronic torque setting device operable to receive a desired torque setting from a user, a torque sensing device for sensing a level of torque applied by the wrench to a workpiece, a motor disposed within the head, and a torque limiter configured to limit the torque applied by the wrench to a workpiece based on the desired torque setting and the level of torque sensed by the torque sensing device. The elongated housing preferably includes a first segment and a second segment slidably coupled to form a telescopic elongated housing that is configurable into at least two lengths.

  • Patent number: 7543614
Abstract: A collapsible infeed/outfeed table is provided with a pair of collapsible wings that are supported by struts slidably attached to the wings and pivotally attached to two pairs of elongated support legs. A pair of vertical stanchions provide a pivot point for the wings and lower ends thereof support a pair of sliding braces also connected to the extensible legs. A central roller is provided between the two wings that telescope between an extended and a retracted position. Extensible rollers are provided at free ends of the wings such that, when extended, the table may serve as a crosscut saw support stand. With the wings retracted and the central roller raised, the table may serve as an infeed/outfeed roller support for a separate saw, such as a crosscut saw or table saw. Finally, with all of the rollers retracted and the wings extended, the table is a work table.

  • Publication number: 20090079152
Abstract: A mobile saw stand brake system incorporates a pair of swing-out legs pivotally connected to a saw stand main frame. A first end of the main frame is supported on a pair of rotating wheels. A pair of brake lever arms, each having a brake shoe end and a distal actuating end, are pivotally connected to the main frame. A tension mechanism is interconnected with the pair of swing-out legs so as to actuate the brake lever arms to engage the wheels when the legs are extended in their swing-out position. The brakes are disengaged when the swing-out legs are folded into a stowed position.

  • Patent number: 7454845
Abstract: A tape measure includes a housing and a tape retractably coupled to the housing. The tape has an upper surface, a lower surface, and a free end onto which an end clip is moveably coupled. The end clip includes a first attachment portion and a first flange extending therefrom. In addition, an intermediate clip is fixedly coupled to the tape. The intermediate clip includes a second attachment portion and a second flange extending from second attachment portion. The second flange includes a flange face located one measurement unit from the free end of the tape. The end clip cooperates with a set of first measurement markings applied to the tape to provide linear measurements. Whereas, the intermediate clip cooperates with a set of second measurement markings applied to the tape. The set of second measurements markings commence at one measurement unit from the free end of the tape. In addition, the tape measure may include reverse marking applied to the back side of the tape.

  • Publication number: 20080282862
Abstract: A repetitive fence utilizes a plurality of telescoping arms driven by a metal tape of the tape measure type to position a stop member at a desired location from a saw blade. A user can position a work piece, such as board lumber against the stop member to repeatedly position the work piece at a desired cut dimension with respect to a saw blade. The repetitive fence preferably employs a plurality of telescoping arms to position the stop member at the desired location, and an electronic read-out provided to indicate to the user the position of the stop member with respect to the saw blade. The telescoping arms can be motivated by electronic devices, such as an electric motor, or by a manual crank.

  • Publication number: 20080150473
Abstract: A portable emergency appliance comprises a housing and an integrated power source. A retractable handle extends from the housing between a first position and a second position. Retractable cables are connected to the power source and are removably connectable to the retractable handle, such that the cables are secured by the handle when the handle is in the first position, and are at least partially extended when the handle is in the second position. The cables are then releasable from the handle at the second position, to typically provide further extension and retraction to render service to an external entity. The power source is preferably rechargeable. The emergency appliance may preferably provide a variety of other functions, such as but not limited to AC power, DC power, pressurized air, lighting, tool storage and/or data storage and/or display.

  • Patent number: 7331221
Abstract: A method and apparatus to regulate the inflation of objects. To start inflation, the apparatus couples a fluid source to the object via a plenum. Concurrent with inflation, the apparatus substantially continuously measures pressure within the plenum using a sensor sufficiently proximate the object such that pressure measured by the sensor is substantially similar to pressure within the object. When measured pressure exceeds a target pressure by a prescribed margin, the apparatus stops inflating. While inflation is stopped, the apparatus reads pressure measured by the sensor and deflates the object as needed to reduce measured pressure to the target pressure.
