Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention is directed to a tire having a tread portion with tread blocks arranged in a V-shaped pattern. At least one of the tread blocks comprises a lateral sipe with a bump stop protruding into the sipe from one sidewall of the sipe towards an opposite sidewall of the sipe and extending along a radial direction to avoid closing of the sipe adjacent the bump stop due to forces transversal to the lateral sipe. In a second aspect, a tread portion of a tire comprises sipes with pairs of first and second bump stops facing each other and comprising oppositely oriented wedged shapes. In a third aspect, the invention is directed to a tire with tread blocks arranged in a V-shaped pattern, and further comprising tread blocks with chamfered edges, laterally and transversally extending sipes, transversally extending sipes with notches, and sipes with bump stops.
