  • Publication number: 20250334212
Abstract: The invention relates to forming a collapse resistant thermoplastic hydraulic high pressure hose for use with an umbilical, where a liner is applied to a reinforcing carcass in which the liner material is controlled to protrude into recesses on the carcass to improve the engagement of the liner and carcass and prevent relative slipping. The amount of liner material which protrudes into the recesses is controlled and may be reduced at selected portions along the hose, for example to facilitate easier removal of the carcass from the liner, for example for preparation of terminations.

  • Patent number: 8393273
Abstract: Bullets, including lead-free bullets with frangible cores, are described herein. In some embodiments, a bullet includes a jacket having an inner surface defining a cavity having an open end and a closed end. The bullet also includes a lead-free core positioned within the cavity and extending from the closed end to a first intermediate portion of the cavity. The core includes a plurality of particles that are compacted within the cavity to form the core. The bullet also includes a seal positioned within the cavity and extending from the first intermediate portion to a second intermediate portion of the cavity. The seal abuts the inner surface of the jacket, thereby substantially sealing off the core within the cavity. The bullet may also include a polymeric tip having a forward portion projecting forward from the open end and a rearward portion extending rearward into the cavity.

  • Patent number: 7823005
Abstract: A method for the monitoring and modification of communications in a communications system and a related communications system with a number of intercommunicating first nodes in which the intercommunication comprises desired communications and may comprise undesired communications; in which the system also comprises a further node for monitoring and modifying the communications; in which the further node comprises means for modifying the undesired communications and/or introducing further communications to change the operation of the system.

  • Publication number: 20060123267
Abstract: An interface element is adapted to interface with a communications network and includes a monitor to monitor the state of the network, and a method of using the interface element. The monitor may monitor the state of the network by monitoring the state of a link or component of the network, by receiving one or more messages regarding the state of the link/component. The monitor may monitor the state of the network by registering any changes in the state of the network or by registering any faults occurring in the network. The monitor may communicate the state of the network to one or more components of the network. The interface element may react to the state/changes in the state of the network. The monitor may comprise a router, running routing protocol software with which the network can communicate, e.g., the Open Shortest Path First routing protocol. The interface element may comprise a host, such as a residential gateway programmable device.
