Abstract: A glazing inspection apparatus for detecting edge faults in a ply of glass, and a method of inspection, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a light source for illuminating a ply of glass, image capture means for capturing images of the edge and the upper and lower surfaces, adjacent the edge, of the ply of glass and focusing means for focusing the images of the edge and the upper and lower surfaces, adjacent the edge, of the ply of glass into the same focal plane. Preferably the focusing means comprises two triangular glass prisms located at one end of a parallelepiped glass block, on opposite sides of the block. Alternatively, the focusing means may comprise the parallelepiped glass block and a pair of mirrors.
