Abstract: A system and method for host signaling processing that allows multiple SS7 applications to have visibility to the SS7 network traffic and the ability to control the SS7 network traffic. The applications residing on the platform have visibility to the SS7 traffic flowing through the Intelligent Communications Point (ICP) Platform, ability to control and modify the traffic and the ability to inject new SS7 traffic onto the SS7 links. The ICP platform will provide basic services that applications can use including Logging Data, Process Events, Inter Process Communication Services, and an interface to the Intelligent Communications Manager which provides a graphical user interface to manage the ICP. In addition to these services, the ICP Platform will provide basic traffic metering and measurement, bookkeeping statistics, and a failsafe mechanism for the SS7 links.

Abstract: A musical toy shaped like a rainbow or a banjo which generates musical sounds in response to interruption of one or more radiation beams is disclosed. In one embodiment, the musical toy is provided with a frame member (202) having a substantially unobstructed aperture (206) disposed therein, a photoemitter (212) for generating a radiation beam across the aperture (206), a photodetector (216) positioned to receive the radiation beam, an audio generator for generating a plurality of temporally successive portions of a predetermined musical song, and a play mechanism for causing the audio generator to generate one of the temporally successive musical song portions in response to each interruption of the radiation beam so that repeated interruption of the radiation beam causes the predetermined musical song to be played.

Abstract: A self-activating organoclay rheological additive for non-aqueous fluid systems has been produced comprising a homogeneous mixture of an organically modified montmorillonite clay and two solid waxes, the waxes being the activators for the organic clay. The two waxes are finely divided particles of glyceryl tri-12-hydroxystearate and an amide wax having the formula ##EQU1## where n is from 2 to 18, HSA is the acyl radical of 12-hydroxystearic acid, R is hydrogen or the acyl radical of 12-hydroxystearic acid.The montmorillonite clay is modified with a quaternary ammonium compound.
