  • Patent number: 12296423
Abstract: A safety system for a power miter saw comprises a support member, at least one multidirectional manipulator including a workpiece holder member moveably mounted to the support member for securing a workpiece in place, and a control box. The workpiece holder member includes a presence indicator operatively connected to the control box and configured to detect the physical presence of a saw operator's hand on the at least one multidirectional manipulator when the saw operator's hand engages the presence indicator. The control box is operatively connectable to a trigger switch of the power miter saw so that an electric motor of the power miter saw is activated only when both the presence indicator of the safety system and the trigger switch of the power miter saw are engaged by both hands of an operator of the power miter saw.

  • Patent number: 10693717
Abstract: Process to associate a set of physical ports on a physical device with a set of software virtual interfaces. Process includes placing the set of software virtual interfaces to be associated with a set of N physical ports in an enabled state which has a first link state when no activation device is connected to a particular software virtual interface and a second link state when an activation device is connected to the particular software virtual interface. Connecting an activation device such as a loopback connector to a physical port to shift the software virtual interface to the second link state to map that particular physical port to that particular software virtual interface.

  • Patent number: 10561922
Abstract: Devices and methods are generally provided for indicating the location of a most recent strike on a face of a golf club. One exemplary embodiment of an impact indication device can include a patch that can be attached to the face of a golf club and can display the impact location of a most recent strike without displaying impact locations of previous strikes. The impact locations of previous strikes can be removed from the patch without the user having to do anything more than take another swing. In some embodiments, the device includes a yield-stress material that assist in displaying impact a most recent impact location without displaying previous impact locations. Other features that can allow patches to work in this fashion, as well as methods related to the same, are also provided. Further, disclosures pertaining to a mobile impact recorder are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10520557
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for recording and transmitting data are provided. The systems, devices, and methods can be used in a variety of contexts, including in conjunction with swinging devices and prosthetics. In one exemplary embodiment, the sensor is configured in a manner that allows it be omni-directional such that its orientation with respect to the object for which it is detecting data is irrelevant to the ability to accurately record and transmit data. In another exemplary embodiment, the system allows a user to use the same sensor across multiple platforms, such as using it for golf and prosthetics, for golf and tennis, or for a regular golf swing and a putting stroke. Other devices, systems, methods, and uses of the same are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7762526
Abstract: A Pendulum Valve having Independently and Rapidly Controllable Theta- and Z-axis Motion. The valve actuator used in the present invention provides the benefit of wide open unrestricted flow of a pendulum valve coupled with the high-resolution and wide dynamic range flow throttling of a ball or butterfly valve. The actuator mechanism will include motor drives and associated control system so that the drives are closely coupled to give highly controlled motion. The drive assembly introduces a concentric shaft arrangement that, when coupled with the highly controllable motor drives, exploits a cam-follower arrangement to make the relative rotation between the two concentric shafts result in highly controlled theta and z-axis motion. Finally, the plate to seal spacing afforded is greater than previously possible with prior valve actuator mechanisms, thereby substantially reducing flow turbulence through the valve as the valve plate eclipses the valve ports.

  • Publication number: 20070260183
Abstract: A system for use in a surgical procedure comprising a pneumatic instrument having an inlet and an outlet, a tank fluidly coupled to the inlet of the pneumatic instrument, wherein the tank provides pressurized helium gas to power the pneumatic instrument, and a compressor fluidly coupled to the outlet of the pneumatic instrument. The compressor receives the helium gas exhausted from the pneumatic instrument and compresses the exhausted helium gas to supply the tank with pressurized helium gas.

  • Publication number: 20060279105
Abstract: A gooseneck hinge assembly for a closure of a vehicle includes a body side strap adapted to be connected to a vehicle body of the vehicle and a closure side strap having a gooseneck shape adapted to be connected to a closure for closing an opening in the vehicle body. The gooseneck hinge assembly also includes a pivot pin pivotally connecting the closure side strap and the body side strap to allow rotational movement therebetween. The gooseneck hinge assembly further includes a wedge bumper interconnecting the body side strap and the closure side strap to allow the decklid to free rise to a fully open position and to dampen an impact of the closure side strap.

  • Publication number: 20030122379
Abstract: The nature of RERFORM Energy System invention captures the wind energy that is produce from vehicular motion on highways. This captured wind energy is recycled inside a wind cylinder assembly (wind tunnel) to produce electricity. This patent lacks any compatible system for comparison, because vehicular road energy has never been realize or produce as a public benefit as a renewable energy source.

  • Patent number: 6226700
Abstract: A computer system includes a CPU and a memory device coupled by a North bridge logic unit to an expansion bus, such as a PCI bus. A South bridge logic connects to the expansion bus and couples various secondary busses and peripheral devices to the expansion bus. The South bridge logic includes internal control devices or master devices that are designed to run master cycles on the expansion bus. The master devices couple to the expansion bus through a common expansion master interface, which executes master cycles on the expansion bus on behalf of the master devices. The South bridge also includes an internal modular master expansion bus coupling the internal master devices to the common master interface. The internal modular master expansion bus permits the master devices to run master cycles to any expansion bus by understanding a standardized group of signals represented by the internal modular master expansion (IMAX) bus.

A South bridge logic connects to the expansion bus and couples various secondary busses and peripheral devices to the expansion bus. The South bridge logic includes internal control devices that are targets for masters on the expansion bus. The target devices couple to the expansion bus through a common expansion target interface, which monitors and translates master cycles on the expansion bus on behalf of the target devices. The South bridge also includes an internal modular target expansion bus coupling the internal target devices to the common target interface. The internal modular target expansion bus permits the target devices to receive master cycles from any expansion bus by understanding a standardized group of signals represented by the internal modular target expansion (IMAX) bus.
