A color name for each color identified in the color palette and/or the color image can be identified based at least in part on color name popularity information. Color name popularity information may be identified from color name-related voting results provided by a social network site.

Abstract: An electronic device with a primary display having a first power consumption and a keypad display separate from the primary display, and having a second power consumption less than the first power consumption is presented. The keypad display is coupled to a touch sensor and displays a standard keypad interface when the electronic device is powered on. Based on user selection of one or more applications on the electronic device, custom keypad interfaces associated with the selected application is displayed on the keypad display. User selection of icons on the custom keypad interfaces cause the electronic device to perform corresponding functions of the selected application. The custom keypad interface associated with the selected application may be stored in the electronic device or configured based on the user's individual settings. The custom keypad interfaces may include characters, symbols and images relevant to the operational state of the selected application.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating one or more user interfaces that enable filtering of the contents of a collection of items based on user interaction with item images. For example, an initial configuration can be generated including image thumbnails corresponding to each of a number of items. One or more of the thumbnails may be selected by a user to indicate a desired filter range. When a user interacts with the thumbnails, for example, by selecting a thumbnail or range of thumbnails, the initial configuration and/or an associated collection of items for presentation may be updated to present images of items in the selected filter range.

Abstract: A reconfigurable keypad for enhancing user experience of an electronic device. The keypad includes a keypad display implemented as any type of display devices that can display different configurations of characters, symbols or images. The keypad display is placed adjacent an application display module. Both the keypad display and the application display module are covered with a common protective film, giving an appearance of a continuous top surface. The keypad also has a mechanism for providing tactile feedback to the user indicating whether the keypad was properly pressed.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for generating and updating an efficient configuration for display of item images, in order to present the contents of a collection of item images to a user in a space-efficient and visually pleasing manner. For example, an initial configuration can be generated including thin slices of each image. The thin slices can be symmetrically cropped versions of the corresponding image designed to still convey a high degree of detail about the depicted item. When a user interacts with the thin slices, for example, by hovering a cursor or through a touch event, the initial configuration can be updated to gradually expand slices and contract full size images based on the user input.

Interactions between the first user and one or more other users having similar color preferences with respect to the first user may be facilitated. A social networking recommendation may be generated with respect to the one or more other users having similar color preferences with respect to the first user.

Furthermore, the color names may be retrieved from a data store via a fast index color search. The color information in the metadata may be validated against the color names.
