  • Publication number: 20250380221
Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure are directed towards a baseband processor including memory coupled to one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to monitor a paging physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) for a communication in response to operating in a camped on any cell state. A one-step paging reception is performed based on operating in the camped on any cell state. The one-step paging reception is performed by only processing a downlink control information (DCI) of the PDCCH at reception of the communication in response to being in the camped on any cell state. The communication is received according to the one-step paging reception.

  • Publication number: 20250351012
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can be configured to detect a mobility event of the UE in which the mobility event corresponds to the UE moving from a first service area which supports one or more edge application servers (EAS) to a second service area which supports one or more cloud application servers (CAS). The UE can then perform communications with an edge configuration server (ECS) regarding the second service area. Additionally, the UE can receive from the ECS, a response comprising an indication that one or more suitable edge data networks (EDNs) could not be found. The UE can discover a suitable CAS corresponding to the second service area and perform an application context transfer (ACT) from the EAS to the CAS.

  • Patent number: 12316719
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) or other device performs service discovery of edge computing resources in a cellular network system and dynamic offloading of UE application tasks to discovered edge computing resources. As part of the discovery process, the device (e.g., the UE) may request edge server site capability information. When performing dynamic offloading, the UE may obtain (collect and/or receive) information regarding channel conditions, cellular network parameters or application requirements and dynamically determine whether a task of the application executing on the UE should be offloaded to an edge server or executed locally on the UE. In making decisions between offloaded or local execution, the UE may use a utility function that takes into account factors such as relative differences in application latency, energy consumption and offloading cost.

  • Publication number: 20250031139
Abstract: Systems, devices and methods for a user equipment (UE) to perform public land mobile network (PLMN) selection with a non-terrestrial network (NTN). A UE performs a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure with a public land mobile network (PLMN) of an NTN. The UE receives a NAS message from the PLMN, and the NAS message indicates that the UE is not allowed to access a core network of the NTN. The NAS message may indicate that the UE is not allowed to access the core network of the NTN because a location of the UE is unknown to the NTN, that access to the NTN is not allowed in a country in which the UE is located, or that a location of the UE is not within a country associated with the NTN. The UE modifies its PLMN search procedure responsive to receiving the NAS message.

For example, the UE generates a registration request message that includes 5G mobility management (5GMM) capabilities of the UE that are indicative of whether the UE supports voice over internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS), and transmits the registration request message to a next generation radio access network (NGRAN) node in the 5G wireless network. Based on the 5GMM capabilities, the NG-RAN node can determine whether voice over IMS can be provided to UE by comparing the 5GMM capabilities to capabilities of the NG-RAN node.
