Publication number: 20230170177Abstract: An electrode structure for guiding and, for example, for splitting a beam of charged particles, for example an electron beam, along a longitudinal path has multipole electrode arrangements that are spaced apart from one another along the longitudinal path and that have DC voltage electrodes. The electrode arrangements are configured to generate static multipole fields centered around the path in transverse planes oriented perpendicular to the longitudinal path, wherein the field strengths of the static multipole fields in the transverse planes each have a local minimum at the location of the path and increase as the distance from the location of the path increases. Field directions of the static multipole fields vary periodically with a period length along the path so that the particles propagating along the path are subjected to an inhomogeneous alternating electric field due to their intrinsic movement and experience a transverse return force towards the longitudinal path on average over time.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2021Publication date: June 1, 2023Inventors: Robert ZIMMERMANN, Michael SEIDLING, Peter HOMMELHOFF

Publication number: 20230088649Abstract: A method for aligning a workpiece in a working space of a machine tool having a numerical control system uses a probe. 3D models of the working space, probe, and workpiece are virtually displayed. The workpiece is positioned in the working space and the virtual workpiece is positioned in the virtual working space so that there is an initial coincidence between positions thereof. The probe is manually positioned relative to the workpiece, wherein a planned probing point and probing direction are selected based on a minimum distance of the virtual probe from the virtual workpiece, and are displayed. Enabling of the probing is based on quality of the planned probing point, and, when enabled, a probing operation is triggered, and coordinates of a probing point are determined. The position of the workpiece is recalculated using these coordinates, and the position of the virtual workpiece is updated.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2022Publication date: March 23, 2023Inventors: Robert Zimmermann, Gero Guenther, Bernhard Hajduk, Martin Gaisser, Stefan Huber, Sebastian Jung

Patent number: 6292537Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray diagnostic device in which the dose applied to a patient is determined and in which the effective dose which is of relevance for the radiation load is calculated from this dose as well as from a weighting factor which is fetched in dependence on the relevant anatomical region to be examined.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2000Date of Patent: September 18, 2001Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventor: Robert Zimmermann

Patent number: 4313055Abstract: The automatic exposure control devices of contemporary X-ray generators have a constant lead time which accurately takes into account the actual ratios or delays only for a given setting of current and voltage. Particularly in the case of high voltages and small currents, the lead times are too short, thus giving rise to overexposures. The invention provides an automatic exposure control device in which the lead time is calculated from the exposure data by an arithmetic unit. The lead time is adjusted on a correspondingly constructed adjustable lead time network. An arithmetic unit of this kind is not required for the programmed exposure technique. The correct lead times can then be programmed and stored together with the other exposure parameters.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 1979Date of Patent: January 26, 1982Assignee: U.S. Philips CorporationInventors: Detlev Richter, Robert Zimmermann
