  • Publication number: 20230194521
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for liquefying respiratory samples, such as sputum samples. Samples of this type are characterized in that they can be highly viscous or semisolid, which means that to detect pathogenic microorganisms in them, they require prior treatment in order to make them more liquid and homogeneous. The liquefaction method proposed in the present innovation enables pathogenic microorganisms that cause respiratory infections to be subsequently detected.

  • Publication number: 20220299504
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for storing protein-decorated nanoparticles on paper substrates without irreversible binding, and particularly for storing protein-decorated nanoparticles within paper substrates modified with a polymer. The invention also relates to a reservoir containing protein-decorated nanoparticle capable of stablishing biological interactions obtained by the process and its use in biosensors made of paper.

  • Patent number: 9151759
Abstract: The subject matter disclosed in this specification pertains to a method for detecting cells with elastic cell membranes. A plurality of cells are fixed to an impedimetric transducer and osmotic stress is applied. Those cells with elastic membranes, including cancer cells, undergo a volume change which is detected by the impedimetric transducer.

  • Publication number: 20110152124
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for electrically reading microarrays which can be cleaned and used more than once. The device (1, 1?, 1?) for reading microarrays (6) comprises the following elements: a base (2, 2?, 2?) comprising support means (3, 3?, 3?) for positioning the test surface (7) of the microarray (6) parallel to a reading surface (4) of the base (2, 2?, 2?); a matrix of transducers (5, 5?, 5?) disposed on the reading surface (4) of the base (2, 2?, 2?), transforming a variation of an electrical or chemical value into a variation of an electrical value; and reading means (10) which are connected to the transducers (5, 5?, 5?) and interpret the electrical signals from the transducers (5, 5?, 5?).
