  • Patent number: 11942113
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, a hard disk drive includes voice coil motors (VCMs) coupled to respective control units configured to drive retract an operation of the VCMs in the hard disk drive. The retract operation of the VCMs includes a sequence of retract steps. The control units are allotted respective time slots for communication over a communication line with the respective time slots synchronized via the common clock line, and are configured to drive sequences of retract steps of the VCMs in the hard disk drive in a timed relationship.

  • Patent number: 9038755
Abstract: An agricultural vehicle comprises front and rear axle assemblies supported in mutually spaced relation by one or more vehicle frame members that also support a drive train comprising: a) one or more air compressors; b) one or more fuel sources; c) a fuel cell comprising one or more fuel cell modules; and d) one or more electric motors, that are operatively connected together. The air compressor feeds air to the fuel cell, the or each fuel source feeds fuel to the fuel cell and the electric motors are connected or connectable to the fuel cell such that electrical power generated during operation of the fuel cell causes activation of one or more of the motors to power the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5984588
Abstract: Method for the stabilisation of rock masses, especially vaults or walls of tunnels being excavated, comprising the insertion of a hollow tubular element (10) having an open top and provided with at least a spiral-shaped conical-development element (20, 26) within a hole (22) drilled in the rock mass (28) to be consolidated, and the pressure-injection of consolidation material (30) in the cavity of said hollow tubular element (10).The external diameter of said hollow tubular element (10) is smaller than the maximum hole diameter (22) by a length preferably comprised between 20 and 55 mm.

  • Patent number: 5309589
Abstract: Automatic carding machine for uppers including a carriage upholding the upper to be scraped and travelling longitudinally along guides constrained to the top of the machine. The upper sector of the carriage runs on similar guides transversely. The movements can be performed simultaneously by means of independent activation members and the carriage translation speed as well as the upper sector are programmable so that the card can intervene in variable measure on the different peripheral parts of the upper arranged on the carriage. The tool or card automatically reverses its direction of rotation so as to roughen the back of the shoe from the outside toward the inside.

  • Patent number: 5295939
Abstract: A machine for folding and gluing peripherally the edges of a piece of work has a top on which the piece of work moves, a motor for transporting the moving piece of work, and a folding shoe which cooperates with a guide. A glue is fed. A plurality of actuators (Al-An) controls the various parts of the machine, and a control unit (UC) controls the machine operating parameters. The control (UC) has a programming device (PR) connected to the actuators (Al-An), a memory (M) accessible through the programming device (PR) and is designed to contain the parameters used in a more recent processing of the work executed manually by the operator. The operating parameters for processing a given piece of work are furnished to the machine through a learning phase controlled manually by the operator.
