  • Publication number: 20220244768
Abstract: A method includes detecting, by a hardware processor and over a universal serial bus (USB) Type-A connection, whether a client controller is present in a client device. The method also includes supplying power to the client device over the USB Type-A connection by selecting between one of a first power source or a second power source depending on whether the client controller is detected.

  • Patent number: 11063774
Abstract: An apparatus comprises an Ethernet port including high-side transformers and low-side transformers. High-side current paths supply high-side currents form a high voltage rail to high-side center taps of the high-side transformers. Low-side current paths supply or do not supply low-side currents from a low voltage rail to low-side center taps of the low-side transformers, and convert the low-side currents to sense voltages. A controller configures the low-side current paths to either supply or not supply the low-side currents to the low-side center taps when none of the sense voltages exceed a voltage threshold representative of an overcurrent threshold or when at least one of the sense voltages exceeds the voltage threshold, respectively. A current monitor injects additional current into the low-side current paths only when at least one of the high-side currents exceeds the overcurrent threshold.

  • Patent number: 7602724
Abstract: A system for transmitting data to a first circuit that transmits and receives data at a first rate from a second circuit that transmits data at second rate that is greater than the first rate. This invention includes an interface that transmits pause frames to the second circuit in response to an event in order to halt transmission from the second circuit to the first circuit. The second circuit then halts transmitting data until a message to resume transmission is received.

  • Patent number: 7542483
Abstract: Systems and methods for employing asynchronous transceivers in synchronous data communications. For example, a 10 Gigabit Ethernet transceiver may be used to support SONET/SDH communications with or without G.709 coding. Such a transceiver is clocked with a recovered clock signal when a received synchronous signal is available and with a locally generated clock when no such remotely generated signal is available.

  • Patent number: 7191265
Abstract: A printed circuit board (PCB) may be used in a first mode where boundary scan techniques are used to externally program and/or test devices on the PCB, or a second mode where an internal source programs devices using boundary scan techniques. In one implementation, there is also additional flexibility to include or skip devices in a boundary scan chain and to accommodate non-scan related functions for pins used for scanning. These various modes of operation may be selected by activating and deactivating buffers.
