  • Publication number: 20150234581
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for adjusting and moving a user interface for single handed use on an endpoint device are disclosed. For example, the method determines a thumb span of a hand of a user on a touch screen display of the endpoint device, detects via one or more sensors on the endpoint device that the user is holding the endpoint device with a single hand, adjusting a size of the user interface to be within dimensions of the thumb span in response to the detecting and moves the user interface in a direction towards the single hand in response to the detecting.

  • Publication number: 20150217958
Abstract: A system and method are provided for improving stack integrity for a set of image receiving media substrates at an output of a compiler in an image forming device by positioning a particularly configured substrate handling device downstream of the output of the compiler in a process direction. The substrate handling device is configured of a plurality of omni-directional wheeled devices that provide drive (traction) normal to a motor axis under control of one of a respective plurality of independent motors while allowing sliding in the motor axis direction. The omni-directional wheeled devices, in one embodiment, are configured with small roller wheels along the periphery of the wheel. When using three or more omni-directional wheeled devices, translational movement can be combined with rotation to deliver sheets of image receiving media exiting the compiler at a correct angle and lateral position for further processing.

  • Patent number: 9073374
Abstract: A printer detects inoperative inkjets during printing of three dimensional objects. The printer includes an electrically conductive substrate onto which a printhead ejects building material in a test pattern. A plurality of electrically conductive members arranged in a pattern corresponding to the test pattern are moved a predetermined distance towards the substrate so ends of the members either contact the surface of the substrate or the building material on the substrate. An electrical current source coupled to the substrate produces a current in those members contacting the substrate. Thus, the inkjets corresponding to the members in which an electrical current is produced are identified as inoperative and the printing of an object can be suspended to take remedial action with regard to the printhead.

  • Patent number: 9067446
Abstract: A printer detects inoperative inkjets during printing of three dimensional objects. The printer includes a substrate onto which a printhead ejects building and support material in a test pattern. An ultrasonic sensor scans the substrate on the unprinted side and measures thicknesses at a plurality of locations on the substrate. The thickness measurements are used to identify inoperative inkjets in the printhead and the printing of an object can be suspended to take remedial action with regard to the printhead before formation of the object is completed.

  • Publication number: 20140352497
Abstract: This invention provides a double jet process to produce silver nanoparticles, the process comprising providing a double-jet system to form a reaction mixture in a reactor containing the reactor solution by adding a basic aqueous silver ammonia complex solution and a basic reducing solution to the reactor solution at the same controlled rate with a targeted pH profile for the reactor solution from acidic to basic determined by the addition rate and the initial pH of the reactor solution. Use of this process results in a dispersion comprised of silver nanoparticles that have a specific size and de-agglomeration level that is determined by the process conditions.
