Roberto M. Garza has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20070189111
Abstract: A system for converting hydrokinetic energy into mechanical energy. The system includes a holding tank, a housing containing a turbine, and a power take-off connected to the turbine for providing mechanical energy to outside the system. At least one mixing chamber with a discharge opening is connected to the housing for receiving a fluid therefrom. A gas is communicated into the mixing chamber, which causes a circulatory flow of the fluid within the holding tank that is used to spin the turbine.

  • Patent number: 4938124
Abstract: A network of conduits are arranged under the foundation of the house. A vent pipe extends from the network conduits to above the house. A slight vacuum is drawn on the network of conduits so that any gases that may exist below the house are drawn into the conduits and discharged into the atmosphere. One of the gases being discharged into the atmosphere is radon. A manual and automatic system is provided for maintaining the vacuum pressure on the network.

  • Patent number: 4462559
Abstract: A new means for controlling yaw or lateral movement of rotary wing aircraft that makes use of the entire tail section or fuselage of the aircraft. The tail section is comprised of a tail aileron, a rudder, and a trimming tab horizontally hinged to the aileron. The aileron is attached to a rotatable support boom which is supported by a plurality of fixed bushings and covered by a shroud. A pair of tail cables are attached to either side of the support boom and a pair of foot pedals within the cabin for controlling the direction and degree of pivot of the aileron. The rudder is vertically hinged to the rear of the aileron, and its pivotal movement is controlled by a pair of rudder cables attached to either side of the rudder and to the pedals within the cabin. Depression of the left or right pedal will cause the aileron and rudder to pivot to the left or right, respectively. The trimming tab is pivoted to the right or left by automatic control means independent of the aileron and rudder control mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4403746
Abstract: A continuous loop film projecting apparatus whereby film from a projector is received on a platter having pneumatic or mechanical means to decrease the friction on the film as a result of the film rubbing against the platter surface. A blower located beneath the platter forces air through a series of holes or jets in the platter, lifting the edge of the film enough off the platter to decrease the tension on the film and help prevent the film from breaking. Instead of forcing air through holes in the platter to lift the film, the platter may have slots extending almost the width of the platter with blades attached to the bottom of the platter underneath the slots, the blades projecting through the slots as a roller on the blade contacts a camming surface.

  • Patent number: 4403747
Abstract: A continuous loop film projecting apparatus whereby film from a projector is received on a platter having pneumatic or mechanical means to decrease the friction on the film as a result of the film rubbing against the platter surface and against itself.

  • Patent number: 4092828
Abstract: A hydroelectric plant operated by wave action is supported by the ocean floor and extends above the surface of the ocean. Connected to an outer edge of the plant structure above the surface of the ocean is a plurality of pivotally connected lever arms having floats connected on the ends thereof. The floats rise and fall with the ocean waves to cause pivotal motion of the lever arms. The lever arms connect through an adjustable crosshead and hydraulic cylinder to secondary levers. The secondary levers are pivotally attached to the plant structure and operate pump rods to move pistons the same stroke length regardless of the tide or the height of the waves. The movement of the piston may be used to pump water through a turbine, or to pressurize air, either of which may be used as a driving force for generating power.
