Abstract: The present invention refers to a compound of formula (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, having analgecic activity. Particularly, the compounds of the instant invention are useful to treat or prevent acute and chronic pain, especially neuropathic pain. Additionally, the present invention provides a process for preparing the compounds, a pharmaceutical composition that comprises a compound of formula (I), and a method for treatment of acute and chronic pain.

Abstract: The present invention describes a new propofol-containing anesthetic pharmaceutical composition for parenteral administration, in the form of an oil-in-water microemulsion in which the oily phase is constituted by propofol in the form of particles with size comprised between 1 and 100 nm using a single surfactant selected from the group consisting of polyethylene glycol stearates with general formula C17H35COO. (OCH2CH2)nH or C17H35COO. (OCH2CH2)n.COOC17H35. The anesthetic pharmaceutical composition of the present invention is more potent for induction of hypnosis and anesthesia, has a ready-to-use presentation and highly stable particle size, presenting improved physicochemical properties, and preventing the potential risks of undesirable effects encountered in the state-of-the-art propofol formulations.

Abstract: The present invention describes a process for the synthesis of S-nitrosothiols and the subsequent incorporation of these compounds in hydrophilic macromolecular compositions. By the process described herein, the S-nitrosothiols are synthesized in a device (FIG. 2) in a first step from the S-nitrosation reaction of their respective precursor thiols (A), promoted by a mechanical action that puts the thiols in contact with the nitrous acid formed from nitrite anions in acidic medium (B), and in a second mechanical operation, the freshly formed S-nitrosothiols are incorporated in an application vehicle (C) based on hydrophilic macromolecular compositions that increases their thermal stability.
