Abstract: A shielded hospital caster has a structural framework which sustains the solid steel axle and nut for mounting on furniture, a rolling axle, on which wheels are mounted, each wheel having an intermediary part having gear segments on a side facing the framework. The wheels are fixed to the framework through nuts and sealed externally through hubs. In one version, the caster has a device mounted at the lower base of the framework and comprising a moving body activated by a brake pedal. The device controls locking or release of rotation in the vertical axle itself through engagement of the head of the moving body on a toothed track of the caster and controls locking or release in the rolling direction by engagement of teeth of lateral flaps the moving body with the gear segments of the wheels. In the second version, the device is formed by a fixed body.

Abstract: A constructive arrangement applied to swivel castor guards represented as an improvement that provides the possibility to interchange an infinite variety of end pieces on a single basic castor structure, providing the ability to create a wide range of castor models at a reduced cost, considering that the constructive arrangement disclosed requires a reduced amount of investment in production tooling, limited to the interchangeable end piece, as the new components, namely the main body with a wheel guard having a slot on its trailing end face and the intermediate part, which are part of the improvement, can be considered as standard parts.

Abstract: A rotating caster used in children's furniture represented by a solution allowing the utilization of a rotating caster very different from those frequently used in the state of the technique, and such differentiation may be translated by the fact that this device presents an organic shaped main body containing no bumps, especially those punctiform shaped, assuring the children's integrity in case of parts of their bodies colliding with the exposed faces of this type of device; also, this condition further collaborates by assuring a higher concentration power of the child towards the furniture. Furthermore, in order to assure a longer interaction of the child with the caster, the latter presents in its front part the installation of interchangeable elements, which may present all sorts of organic shapes, as long as they do not contain shoulders.
