  • Patent number: 5632451
Abstract: A radially compressible cylindrical cop for supporting yarn in the form of a tubular body between two end annular elements and comprising a first set of longitudinal rigid rods arranged angularly equidistant one in respect of the other and a second set of longitudinal rods which can be deformed in their transverse direction and which are likewise angularly equidistant one in respect of the other and arranged in positions intermediate to the rigid rods of the first set. Each deformable rod is connected to the adjacent rigid rods by rigid transverse stiffening tacks arranged longitudinally equidistant one in respect of the other with the rigid tacks which originate from an adjacent rigid rod and which are arranged in a position intermediate to the rigid tacks originating from the opposite adjacent rigid rod.

  • Patent number: 5152475
Abstract: An axially compressible tubular carrier or dye tube for the winding of yarns; the carrier comprises end ring elements and intermediate ring elements interconnected with each other by flexible connecting elements which define the winding surface for the yarn. The connecting elements comprise rigid projections which are angularly spaced and extend axially from both sides of the intermediate ring elements and which define groups of projections in which the projections in each group are connected to the projections of a group of projections of an adjacent ring element by slanted and elastically flexible linking members whose inclination is reversed when the carrier is axially compressed.

  • Patent number: 4997141
Abstract: A dye carrier for yarn packages comprises a tubular body having a yarn winding surface and yarn tailing means at one end of the body for winding up a yarn tail. The yarn tailing means comprises a cylindrical tailing surface of smaller diameter for winding up the yarn tail, a protective annular member between the tailing surface and the yarn winding up surface to prevent damage of the tail, and centering means at both ends of the body defining an annular yarn retaining shoulder to axially align stacked dye tubes.

  • Patent number: 4941621
Abstract: A spool for winding yarns, particularly suited for dyeing and similar operations, which may be compressed in a controlled way. The spool comprises a body having a longitudinal axis and a plurality of coaxially arranged annular members joined by yielding spacing elements; the spacing members extend in a mainly inclined direction with respect to the spool axis, flush to said annular members to define a yarn winding surface. The body furthermore comprises longitudinal stiffening members having breakable stop portions protruding from adjacent annular members to define stop means allowing an axially controlled compression of the body of the spool.
