  • Patent number: 10299531
Abstract: An article of footwear may include an upper and a sole structure secured to the upper. The upper has a knitted component formed of unitary knit construction that includes at least one gore region located in a heel region of the article of footwear. The gore region provides a contoured configuration to the knitted component. In a method of manufacturing, a knitted component may include a first gore region and a plurality of second gore regions, with the first gore region being located in a heel area of the article of footwear and the second gore regions being located adjacent to the sole structure.

  • Publication number: 20180228241
Abstract: In one aspect, the present disclosure relates to an article at least partially formed by a knitted component. In some embodiments, the article may include an upper for an article of footwear. The knitted component may include a seamless portion extending from a toe area, through a midfoot area, and to a heel area of the upper on at least one of a lateral and a medial side of the upper. A first course may at least partially form the knitted component, and the first course may extend from the heel area to the toe area of the upper.

  • Publication number: 20170332722
Abstract: In one aspect, an article of footwear may include a knitted component having monofilament strands knitted substantially throughout and a body portion extending continuously from a heel region, along a lateral side of a midfoot region, over a forefoot region, to a medial side of the midfoot region. The body portion may include a plurality of multifilament courses forming an interior surface and an exterior surface. The body portion may include a first monofilament zone in the midfoot region extending diagonally toward the forefoot region, including a plurality of first monofilament areas forming at least a portion of the interior surface of the body portion and substantially having a medial-to-lateral orientation. The body portion may include a second monofilament zone including at a plurality of second monofilament areas forming at least part of the interior surface. The multifilament courses may define a shape of the first monofilament areas and a shape of the second monofilament areas.

  • Publication number: 20170258169
Abstract: In one aspect, an upper for an article of footwear may include a knit element, a collar area configured to form an ankle opening, and a cuff in the collar area. The cuff may be at least partially formed by the knit element and may include a ribbed knit structure of the knit element. In another aspect, an upper for an article of footwear may include a knit element with a first area, the first area including a first side and a second side opposite the first side. The first side may be formed of at least 30% more material than the second side such that the first area is configured to curve convexly away from the first side.

  • Publication number: 20140338226
Abstract: An article of footwear includes a sole structure and an upper coupled to the sole structure. The upper includes a lower edge that is disposed adjacent to the sole structure. The upper further includes a collar defining an opening to a void within the upper. The collar defines an upper edge of the upper that is spaced away from the lower edge. The upper includes a forward portion and a heel portion. The heel portion includes a knitted component of unitary knit construction. The knitted component at least partially defines the upper edge and the lower edge of the upper. The knitted component includes a first side edge that is attached to the forward portion along a first side. The knitted component also includes a second side edge that is attached to the forward portion along a second side.

  • Publication number: 20130262480
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products are provided for assigning content category scores to nodes of a linked database. The nodes of the linked database include linking nodes and linked nodes. Each linking node is assigned a linking node score for each content category. The linking node score for each content category represents a degree of relevancy of the linking node to the content category. Each of the linked nodes is linked to by at least one of the linking nodes. Each linked node is assigned a content category score for each content category. The content category score for each content category is based on the linking node score for said content category of each linking node that links to the linked node.
