Abstract: A lighting system for a vehicle which utilizes a central housing having an electrical power source therein. The central housing is secured to the spokes of a wheel of the vehicle (such as a bicycle) and contains the electrical source. Light emitting units are secured to the spokes of wheel. These light emitting units are powered by the electrical source in said central housing and emit light substantially perpendicular to the plane formed by the wheel. In the preferred embodiment, the central housing uses three different units, one containing a controller and the other two having the power sources. The controller is able to adjust the timing of the lights so that more attention is generated thereby.
