Publication number: 20120314011Abstract: In a method for applying a curable hot-melt ink the ink is applied in a fluid state on a medium, in particular a recording medium or an intermediate transfer member, on which the ink cools, thereby thickening. Then, the applied ink is at least partly heated such that the viscosity of at least a part of the ink decreases. Thereafter, the ink is cured. The method is suitable for providing a high gloss image and/or for improving an ink transfer from the intermediate transfer member to a recording medium and/or for improving an adhesion of the ink on the recording medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 7, 2012Publication date: December 13, 2012Applicant: OCE TECHNOLOGIES B.V.Inventors: Peter M. Patent number: 8279463Abstract: A method of controlling document processing in a networked system and a digital image reproduction device for document processing are described. The system has workstations for submitting processing jobs of a user, and a memory unit that manages the jobs that are waiting to be executed. The method includes providing, at a user interface of the digital image reproduction device, control elements for a user to select a processing job from the processing jobs in a logical storage space; and executing the selected processing job. Kickstart processing jobs are selected, based on predetermined kickstart criteria, from the processing jobs in the memory unit, and a corresponding set of kickstart control elements is provided at the user interface, each coupled to a respective one of the selected kickstart processing jobs. When a kickstart control element is activated by a user, the associated kickstart processing job is directly initiated.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2007Date of Patent: October 2, 2012Assignee: Oce-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Jodocus F. Patent number: 7777904Abstract: A method and system for printing documents are provided. New print jobs are automatically analysed with respect to the device-specific properties of the individual pages and each page is designated, on the basis of the analysis, either for processing on a printer of the first type or the second type. Then, the jobs are made locally available for printing on each of the printers. A user may locally start a job on any of the printers and that printer then automatically selects and prints only the pages of the job that are designated for processing on its own type of printer. Then, the user may locally start that same job on any of the printers of the other type and that printer then also automatically selects and prints only the pages of the job designated for processing on its own type of printer.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2005Date of Patent: August 17, 2010Assignee: OCÉ-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Robertus C. Patent number: 7536547Abstract: A method and apparatus for secure transmission of digital document data between multiple devices are provided. At a sending station, a document file is generated and a user-defined character string is inputted by an operator in the local user interface. Then, the sending station automatically forms an encryption key based on the user-defined character string and encrypts the document file therewith. However, one or more predetermined specifying header items of the file are not encrypted, to facilitate recognition and handling of the file. A transmission file, including the encrypted document file, is then transmitted towards a receiving station, where the encrypted document file is decrypted based on the same user-defined character string entered at the sending station, when the latter is entered in the local user interface of the receiving station. Even though the transmission file is encrypted, the unencrypted header items enable file handling, such as routing, and accounting.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 2004Date of Patent: May 19, 2009Assignee: Oce-Technologies B.V.Inventor: Robertus C. Patent number: 7419100Abstract: A method and system are described for executing document scanning jobs intended for a remote work station through using a wireless connection between the work station and a scanner facility. When a user, carrying a mobile device, approaches a multifunctional reproduction device, automatically a scanning template will be uploaded from the mobile device to the multifunctional device. In case the user now makes himself known to the multifunctional device and prepares for a scan job, at the user interface of the multifunctional device, the scan template will be displayed for further specification of the scan job by the user. After completion of the scan job the scanned data is downloaded to the mobile device. When the connection is closed the scanning template and data belonging to the scan job are removed from the multifunctional device.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2005Date of Patent: September 2, 2008Assignee: Océ-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Dennis W. Patent number: 6970260Abstract: A system and method for generating digitized documents for a digital environment, having at least one scanner, a local operator control unit, and a management unit connected to the scanner or scanners. The management unit is provided with an input unit for receiving, from the digital environment, a request for a digitized document; a warning device for communicating a request for a digitized document to at least one scanner; a receiving unit for receiving from a scanner an acceptance of a request selected via the operator control unit; and an allocation unit whereby, in response to the acceptance, a scan order for generation of the digitized document requested in the said selected request is allocated to the scanner which sent the acceptance. This enables incoming scan orders to be held until a scanner is ready to execute them, without in any way interfering with current scanning processes.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2000Date of Patent: November 29, 2005Assignee: Océ-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Monica M. Patent number: 6856413Abstract: A user interface for an information-processing system having workstations for users and a number of printers on which it is possible to print files made at a workstation, all connected by a network. The print jobs of a user which have been sent to the printers are presented at his workstation in a list in combination with the name of the printer to which they have been sent. This applies to jobs which have not yet been or already have been finished in which the status of the job is also indicated. In this way a user can most efficiently direct his print jobs to an appropriate printer and thereafter track, via an actualized overview, all of his print jobs, their status and location. This permits a user to more readily find, control, and manage his print jobs.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1999Date of Patent: February 15, 2005Assignee: Océ-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Monica M. W. M. Patent number: 6058277Abstract: A printing system including at least one printer for printing images on sheets in accordance with electrical image signals fed to the printer, a controller for feeding electrical image signals to the at least one printer and an input unit for receiving and feeding electrical image signals to the controller. The controller includes an operating unit for inputting print orders relating to the electrical image signals to be fed to the at least one printer and a display adapted to display operating information. Order processing time signals are generated that relate to the estimated processing time for printing print orders by the at least one printer. The display also displays a circle segment having an aperture angle whose value is determined by the order processing time signals. As an alternative, an angular position of the circle segment is adjustable and its value is determined by a time signal corresponding to the actual time.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1998Date of Patent: May 2, 2000Assignee: Oce-Technologies B.V.Inventors: Abraham J. Patent number: 5960113Abstract: An automatic language recognition method which comprises selecting a block of data from the received data and searching said block for elements that are "for" or "against" the presence of a particular language. Recognition is performed by searching for a plurality of known languages in a predetermined order, and by proceeding, for each language, with a search for at least one element characteristic of that language in the data block. It is possible to begin by searching for languages having a special signature, then for languages having special synchronization characters or keywords, and then for languages using mnemonics made up of a determined number of significant characters. The method is used for automatically selecting an interpreter module for decoding the received data, in particular the data received by a plotter. The method is also applicable to detecting a fault, a banner, or a switch of language in the received data.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 1995Date of Patent: September 28, 1999Assignee: Oce-Nederland, B.V.Inventors: Reneka Even, Luc Genetier, Robertus C.
