  • Patent number: 5511062
Abstract: An apparatus having a frame (1) carrying a turntable (3) for supporting the information carrier, which turntable is rotatable about an axis of rotation (3A), a slide (9), which is movable between two end positions, with a scanning unit, guide spindles (5, 7) and a linear motor unit (17, 19) for the slide, and an electrically energizable clamping unit (21). In the non-energized condition the clamping unit clamps the slide in any arbitrary stationary position of the slide along its path and in the energized condition it does not clamp the slide. During operation of the device a control unit at least substantially simultaneously turns on a first energizing current to the motor drive unit and a second energizing current to the clamping unit at the beginning of a displacement of the slide and at least substantially simultaneously turns off the first energizing current and the second energizing current at the end of the displacement.

  • Patent number: 5416654
Abstract: A device for the recording and reproduction of signals on a cassette for a medium comprising a sliding cover which in the device can be moved between a closed position and an open position. The device has a receiving space into which the cassette can be inserted, after which by means of a pivotal lever the sliding cover is opened upon further insertion of the cassette, in that the lever moves from the first position to the second position and thereby moves the sliding cover from a closed position to an open position. The lever is arranged on a movable lever support which can be moved between a starting position and an end position. The sliding cover is opened by snap action.

  • Patent number: 5062100
Abstract: A disc cassette (1) has an outer case (4) with a front opening which is closed by a shutter (8) and latched in the case by a movable latching device. The apparatus has a device to release the shutter of an inserted disc cassette and with the aid of a withdrawal mechanism withdraws the shutter from the case when the case is withdrawn from the apparatus. The movable latching device for latching the shutter (8) in the case (4) comprises a movable part (14) of the case, and the release device of the apparatus comprises an insertion element (18A, 18B) which penetrates between the shutter and the case when the loaded disc cassette is inserted, thereby moving the movable part of the case to a free position in which the shutter is no longer latched in the case.

  • Patent number: 4696590
Abstract: A printer (1) having a guide (13,15,16) for an insertable cassette (17), which is provided with a data strip (175) displaceable along a printing head (19). In certain arrangements the cassette may also include a transfer strip (177), which could include colored portions. The cassette (17) has an entrance window (167) for a transport roller (65) pivotable in the printer (1) by translation of the cassette (17). During printing, the data strip (175) and the transfer strip (177), if any, are clamped between the printing head (19) on a first cassette side and the transport roller (65) pivoted from a second cassette side located opposite the first cassette side into the entrance window (167). Separate gear wheel trains both driven by the same motor transport the two strips when both are provided.

  • Patent number: 4473202
Abstract: A magnetic tape cassette having two parallel rectangular major walls, and an anti-erase device adjacent a corner of the housing. A slotted recess in the edge between a first major wall and the rear housing wall receives a serrated slide whose outer surface is disposed within tangent planes to the first major wall and the rear wall. The slide is integral with an anti-erase member formed of a material having a color contrasting with that of the cassette housing, slidable parallel to the cassette rear wall. In a first position an opening in the member is aligned with an opening in the rear wall, and in a second position a portion of the member is exposed to view through the rear wall opening. In one of the two positions a sensing aperture in the major wall is closed by a control element on the anti-erase member.
