  • Publication number: 20240090826
Abstract: The present invention relates to a sensor arrangement comprising a support substrate and at least two microwave antennas fixedly arranged in or on said support substrate, each microwave antenna being separated from all other microwave antennas by a band-stop structure configured to cancel direct coupling between the microwave antennas, said sensor arrangement further comprising microwave signal transmission paths configured to transmit microwave signals to or from said microwave antennas. The invention also relates to a system comprising such a sensor arrangement and a method for non-invasive assessment of a property of subdermal tissue in a subject.

  • Publication number: 20220354425
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure pertain to transmission dielectric probes with at least one channel that extends across the probe. The channel includes a first opening on a first side of the transmission dielectric probe, and a second opening on a second side of the transmission dielectric probe. The first opening and the second opening are on opposite ends of the transmission dielectric probe, and the second opening is associated with an outer surface of the transmission dielectric probe. Additionally, the first opening and the second opening have different diameters, different geometries, or combinations thereof. Further embodiments pertain to methods of operating the transmission dielectric probes by placing the outer surface of the transmission dielectric probe on a surface of an object, transmitting a signal from a first channel through the surface and into the object, and receiving the transmitted signal back through a second channel.

  • Publication number: 20210259570
Abstract: According to one aspect of the invention, a method for assessing physiological properties of a biological tissue is provided. The method comprising the steps of transmitting from a first coaxial probe, receiving at a second coaxial probe and assessing physiological properties. The transmission from the first probe is a microwave signal. The second coaxial probe receives a microwave signal. The first coaxial probe and the second coaxial probe are arranged in connection with the biological tissue. The physiological properties of the biological tissue between the coaxial probes are assessed based on the microwave signal transmitted and received across the biological tissue. The invention further relates to a system and a coaxial probe useful in performing such a method.
