Abstract: In one aspect, this invention relates to a substantially water-insoluble pesticidal aggregate produced from a mixture comprising: (a) a polymer having at least three similarly charged electrostatic moieties; (b) an amphiphilic surfactant having at least one electrostatically charged moiety of opposite charge to the polymer; and (c) a pesticide. In other aspects, this invention relates pesticidal compositions comprising such a pesticidal aggregate and an agriculturally acceptable carrier, as well as to a method of controlling pests using such pesticidal compositions.

Abstract: Processes for preparing a microcapsule composition, microcapsules prepared thereby and uses therefor, the processes comprising: providing a mixture comprising: (i) at least one water immiscible component selected from the group consisting of water immiscible solvents, water immiscible active ingredients, and combinations thereof, and (ii) at least one water immiscible surfactant; adding a water absorbing component to the mixture to form a second mixture; homogenizing the second mixture such that dispersed particles having a median particle size of less than 2 ?m are formed; combining the second mixture and a first microcapsule wall forming monomer to form a third mixture; combining the third mixture and an aqueous mixture comprising a water soluble salt and a water soluble emulsifier to form a fourth mixture; and combining the fourth mixture with a second microcapsule wall forming monomer.

Abstract: The present invention describes a method of inhibiting the growth of an undesired plant by contacting the plant with a herbicidally effective amount of a microcapsule composition. The microcapsule composition includes a dinitroaniline compound and the microcapsule has a median diameter from about 3 micrometers to about 10 micrometers. The present invention further describes a composition for inhibiting the growth of an undesired plant containing a herbicidally effective amount of a microcapsule composition. The microcapsule composition includes a dinitroaniline compound and the microcapsule has a wall with a thickness from about 1 wt. % to about 10 wt. %.
