Abstract: Techniques for spread and pinch gestures are described. A spread gesture can be recognized effective to cause an item to be duplicated. In implementations, the spread gesture includes at least two inputs that select the item and spread apart to increase a distance between the two inputs. The item is divided into two substantially identical items in response to the distance between the two inputs exceeding a distance threshold. A pinch gesture can also be recognized effective to cause one or more items to be removed from a display of items. In implementations, the pinch gesture includes two or more inputs that select and drag two non-adjacent items toward one another to decrease a distance between the two non-adjacent items. The one or more items that are between the two non-adjacent items are removed from the display based on recognition of the pinch gesture.

Abstract: A method is illustrated that comprises receiving at least two states, each state including at least one object with an associated property. Further, the method includes comparing each object of each state to produce a set of differences between states. Additionally, the method includes defining a transition based upon the set of differences.

Abstract: Techniques for appending new content to open content are described. In one or more embodiments, content having one or more hyperlinks associated with additional content is displayed. In implementations, a user selection of one of the hyperlinks is received. In response to receiving the user selection, the additional content associated with the hyperlink is added to the displayed content. In one or more embodiments, the content and the additional content are displayed together as a single content chain.

Additionally, the method includes processing the link instruction to associate the user interface object with the further user interface state. The method also includes displaying, a visual representation of the association between the user interface object and the further user interface state.

Abstract: A method is illustrated that comprises displaying a first visual representation of a set of object properties of a plurality of objects, and a second visual representation of a set of object properties of the plurality of objects, each object of the plurality of objects having a property. The method further includes receiving input selecting an object of the plurality of objects having the property, the property displayed as a transition of the selected object from the first visual representation to the second visual representation. The method additionally includes sorting the plurality of objects based upon the selected object to create a sorted plurality of objects. Further, the method includes generating transition timeline data that includes the sorted plurality of objects.
